We, the people of DeFuniak Springs and the surrounding area, do hereby plead to our elected city officials to preserve the Old St. Margaret's Church building in its present location. For 80 years this beautiful old structure has stood as a testimony to the religious tolerance and cultural diversity of our city. Any new building should be designed to be in harmony with the archetectual style and grace of the preserved building so, sitting side by side, they display the charm and vision of our historic city. The old and the new, living together for decades to come. We, the undersigned are asking the City of DeFuniak Springs to find a way to purchase and preserve this important piece of our city's heritage.

Faubel, United States4 years ago Comments: DeFuniak Springs is a city dedicated to the preservation of many historically engaging landmarks and traditions, It would be a shame if we did not include the original St. Margaret's in our efforts to preserve the past for those citizens of the future. Situated across from the Courthouse, it underscores the city's growth and diversity, especially around the turn of the century. This a wonderful old building; we need to keep it as a permanent part of our city. JRF
