Name: Derek Norbury on Jun 10, 2011Comments: Darts can help young kids learn how to count, helps with hand to eye co-ordination, give them confidence etc etc, maybe the way forward is to educate the younger generation on the importance of playing darts and the benefits. Maybe more private darts clubs could be set up for kids and adults without the need for a pub, its true times are changing and even darts players today realise how imprtant good health is to being a good player is, maybe promote as a healthy sport. I agree that the times of darts and a pint are nearing an end but it doesn't mean darts has to come to an end, it just has to be promoted in a different way to attract the new generation. Personally i have been playing darts 30 years and i am seriously considering starting a darts club and also hiring out mobile dart boards to schools as a learning tool and a fundraiser. If you love the game, set up a small club as a hobby and encourage kids and adults of the benefits, even playing as a pro now is financially encouraging. Darts Forever.Flag

If you watch any of the old 1970's reruns of the world championships and compare them to now the world of darts and society in general have come a long way in 40 years. Many pubs could benefit from putting up a dartboard and encouraging today's league and fun players to visit them on a regular basis.Flag
