Name: Jeanne Rist on Mar 15, 2009Comments: As a member of Ss. Philip and James, I had accepted our church closing. Our parish was in the process of starting to feel the merger to St. ignatius was the right thing. Why would the bishop say one school and one church must close in the cluster and then totally ignore the cluster reccomendations. I think the cluster people wasted their time when the bishop knew exactly what he was going to do.Flag

Name: Irene Spiker on Mar 15, 2009Comments: This was my grandparents church. I attended when I lived with them in the summer of 1961. Take away the new church and leave these old ones. This was and is a true catholic church not a room with a table.Flag

Name: Anne Marie Arnold on Mar 15, 2009Comments: We are at a critical stage in our world in which we as Christians need to reach out into the communities giving a safe haven and share the love of Jesus and be allowed to cling to the words and teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ! We do NOT need to be eliminating a much needed parish at the heart of the inner city. It is my prayer that this church is spared.Flag

Name: Suzanne Cortes on Mar 15, 2009Comments: What a shame to close such a beautiful landmark. Talking about this church at work - I meet more poeple who grew up in the neighborhood - coworkers and customers - and we all love this church. I live in Cleveland - equally distant between St. Ignatius and St. Rose - I WILL NOT go to services in Lakewood. This is a very bad decision on the part of the diocese........Flag

Name: Christine Nabbs (tischler) on Mar 15, 2009Comments: St.Ignatius parish is where I went to school, attended mass, and where my son and I were baptised. Growing up, it was the monument that kept the neighborhood-the people as a whole together. It gave me so many good memories and I am just so sad that they can just "get rid" of our church. My father was one of the men to help light the tower. The age, and the irreplacable and beautiful art and archecture alone should merrit it a landmark. Afterall, everyone who is a clevelander, catholic or not, knows of St.Ignatius by its beautiful tower that lights the sky at night.Flag
