   Comments: I listen to CBC radio daily. I count on the two local programs, The Great North West and Voyage North to keep up with what is happening in North Western Ontario in the areas of current events, weather, culture, entertainment and all that is important to our community. Canada needs a strong properly funded public broadcaster.

   Comments: Regional programming is the life blood of NW Ontario and brings its residents closer together. Our geography is such that without local CBC programming, our voice will not be heard. I consider our local CBC station to reprsent a vital part of my identity as a Northerner. I respectfully request you restore funding to the CBC or, at the very least, provide the necessary bridge funding requested by the CBC.

   Comments: The CBC is an important communications tool in Northwestern Ontario cities and towns. They need a vibrant and strong CBC more than most. Many of these places are isolated from much of the rest of the province and the CBC provides them with a much needed link. So often the needs of Thunder Bay and the other Northwestern Ontario communities are ignored in favour of the needs of southern Ontario.

    Comments: On March 20 I sent a letter of CBC Head Office (Ottawa), attn. Denise Donlon, Director, expressing my concern about our CBC radio station in Thunder Bay, and reminding her what an important service CBC Radio provides all over NWOntario. No other radio station provides us with the kind of programming that CBC offers. NOTE: I have recently heard that there will be a reduction in the staff at the station, and my understanding is that we will still have radio service!
