Bridges are important for transportation everywhere. In rural areas, they are immensely significant, due to farmers and maintainance workers alike. As you know, country roads are well traveled in the Midwest and need to be maintained. We pay taxes and bridges are one of the many things they are supposed to pay for. However, our taxes seem to go to the heavily populated areas and leave us with very little. As a result, several roads are unusable due to so many closed bridges. This forces many hard-working farmers to drive alterior and far more time consuming routes. This issue is important to all of us here in the Midwest. Alterior routes are much longer and due to the fact that farm machinery are gas-guzzlers, every extra mile is money lost. These are the people who are affected by this fixable situation.
