Name: Scot And Denise Bogert on Oct 9, 2012Comments: Please save this trail. It a treasure of a trail. It was our first real thru hike. It is a loop trail requireing only one vehicle saving time and gas. We found it is the home of a rare trilliam flower. We also have a picture of a fawn too young and weak to run from us. It would be a shame to rob future hikers and backpackers of this experience. The ccc'ers worked hard to reverse the damage our ancestors carelessly made. Lets not make the same mistakes again. Thank-youFlag

This is one of those places, and DCNR has the power to protect it. As such, you are in a very unique position. You can choose to create a legacy where these special places are set aside, or one where future generations, including your own children if you have them, will look back and ask why no one protected these places, and instead sold out for a little money. It is your legacy and your conscience. You choose.Flag

To lose this beautiful area for financial gains is barbaric to say the least. Anadarko Petroleum Corporation should release their control and promote the area for protection.Flag

Name: James Rowe on Oct 9, 2012Comments: This place is of immense value to our community! The impact that the development of this area will have on Rock Run equates to inexcusable damage done to a place of sublime beauty. A huge draw for people who want to enjoy a swim in what are now pristine waters, and a unique wilderness and stream basin that has to be seen to be believed, the value is not merely in what lies underneath or the $$ from development, it also lies within the people and the communities who spend thier time here excercising, educating themselves and thier families through experiences here, and the positive spiritual growth of humanity that takes place here until the day that the big oil and gas industry decides that the importance of $$$ takes precedence over the importance of the people in the community. Also, Rock Run is recognized as one of the best swimming holes in the nation. PLEASE DO NOT DEVELOP HERE!!!Flag

Problem is, if you don't see it soon it may be too late. Please pass the word and help to save this special getaway.Flag

Name: Ralph Kisberg on Oct 10, 2012Comments: DCNR can legally protect 3/4 of the this incredible area from any surface development, but Governor Corbett acts like this is his private forest and is pushing DCNR into ignoring that fact. Pennsylvania will see no royalty money from this as the mineral rights are all owned privately ( including 1/2 of them by Anadarko) Exaclty what is in this for PA citizens? Only the negative consequences of the loss of this beautiful, quiet, nature dominated wild place and the threat to at least 7 headwater streams leading both the Lycoming and Loyalsock Creek watersheds. Tell KIng Corbett to back off, and please do it soon. Please write or email him as well as signing this petition.Flag

The State stepped in and provided the means to purchase, restore, and protect these lands for a greater good. Please don't undo what took us the better part of a century to achieve or it will all have been in vain.Flag

These areas need to be protected from development, and saved for future generations.Flag
