   Comments: Ocean Speedway hosts and amazing event "Police in Pursuit" which is a fund raiser fbenefitin Special Olympics. Your County Law Enforcement designed this event to support Special Olympics. Last year tt helped to support the Santa Cruz county Athletes and I know the event scheduled for August 19th will bring in enough money again this year to be a major Contributing event for Santa Cruz County Special Olympics Athletes.

    Comments: I support Ocean Speedway and the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. Born in Watsonville in 1940 I attended many fairs through out the years and during the 1960's and 70's we raced there and sponsered many events at the track. In laws owned Coast Auto Supplies for 13 years. People move into areas where they are aware of the events that take place there. Why did this man wait 10 years to file a complaint? I'm 71 years old and the Fairgrounds and races are for the public.. let it go on for our children growing up. Fine events take place there. Dont let one person ruin the future of our children and for us that love it. We own 360 winged sprint car 23R Rosser Rocket from Roseville, Ca. and we like to come home and race there in our hometown. Bless the people who make it possible for us to do what we love.. thanks 23RDAD

    Comments: Unlike the old way of thinking racing is no more a redneck sport. It is diverse in race and age. There are opportunity for anyone to get involve. I have been around racing since I was five and half found that the race community although competative on track would be there to support each other if help was needed. I have watch many children run around watching races and then make it on the track. Please don't take away opportunity for kids to have something to grow up to do, move kids/teens in to get them into something that keeps them from trouble.

    Comments: We drive 1 1/2 hours to race and watch the races at Ocean Speedway. John Prentice and his staff have always welcomed us. They always have a strict policy on sound. The program has always been ran smooth and quick. As long as I can remember Ocean Speedway has always ran on a Friday. The Events have always been ran on a strict time table. The home owner complaining about the track needs to attend a race night and see for himself what John Prentice and his staff are doing to make sure the show gets completed at a reasonable time. John Prentice has turned Ocean Speedway into a great facility.

    Comments: The person who started all this crap has lived there for over 20 years according to what he has said in interviews. He knew that there was a race track there when he chose to move there, so I think he needs to just shut up or move. I think it is all a bunch of crap and people need to quit bitching about the small stuff, there are more important things going on in this World.

    Comments: I've been going to the watsonville speedway now ocean speedway for at least 35 years and now my kids are going. As a fan turned weekly race car driver this track has been here far longer then this group of unhappy people that have nothing better to complain about. It's sad to think that this group of people want to shut down the fairgrounds and take away another activity for kids.

    Comments: I have been attending events at the fairgrounds and speedway for years and happen to think how lucky we are to have this type of venue in our backyard. However for those who do not agree with me or the many supporters who love the Ocean Speeway Races, please pick up and move to somewhere else ... preferably to Alaska or Canada or even France where you can enjoy a little cheese with your WHINE. Please let the rest of the fun-loving people in Santa Cruz County enjoy our family filled events and entertainment at the fairgrounds.

    Comments: Ocean Speedway employees several hundred people and brings several thousands of dollars into our community, not even to mention the charity work the Speedway and Drivers contribute to local organizations like Walnut Ave Women’s Youth Center, Children’s Hospice just to name a couple of local groups! Ocean Speedway is Good, Clean Family Fun that our community needs more of!

    Comments: I have going to the fairgrounds for over 20 year. Not only to the races, but the fair and the farmers market. When the people moved in the neighborhood the fairgrounds were there so suck it up and get used to it. California (northern) used to be the race capital of California.

    Comments: The fairgrounds and speedway have been in the same area for years. People who purchase property/homes near the area should be doing their own due diligence BEFORE they buy!!!! Where do theses people suggest this type of venue belongs, Anywhere but their neighborhood of course. I ;live close also and the noise and lights have never bothered me I bought my home FULLY aware that the fairground was close and that it was a venue for all sorts of events. I have NO reason to complain, I live here by choice.
