It is important to preserve such sacred places, to preserve such history.Flag

Name: Fiona Clements on Jan 27, 2010Comments: IMHO all new and 'better' roads are doing is encouraging more and more traffic at a time in the global climate, less traffic should be the thing, LESS fuel consumption. ...apart from the heritage factor. The is no national emergency to build new roads, think about the humanitarian element, the money could and should be spent on health, education and welfare of the less fortunate.Flag

The steady destruction of our culture and our pandering to Europe will be the death of this nation...may the Gods of all races and creeds forgive you. TREASON.Flag

Name: Natasha Mahony on Jan 27, 2010Comments: As an Irish citizen who has recently moved to Australia it upsets me that greater preservation of Ireland's historical sites is not high on the countries agenda. Moving to Australia has made me realise just how lucky we are to have such wonderful historic sites and we should do everything we can do preserve them, let alone be building roads so close to them.Flag

Name: Daniel Simpson on Jan 27, 2010Comments: This is a unique heritage site in ireland, why do we seem to put our travel before a sites that tell us so much about OUR past, OUR culture and OUR ancestors!! For god sake, its OLDER than the pyramids and the sphinx in Egypt, and they treat it better than we dare to think to treat any of our sites of importance. Newgrange is approximately 5,000 years old, therefore it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years. Give it the respect it deserves, not thousands of cars, 500 meters away from it, causing more and more damage!Flag

Not only for tourists but the Irish people too. Seriously the goverment are tredding on a fine line now with it's people and if this goes ahead I would not llike to see the outcome of our reactions to this.Flag
