| 1 | Syed Tanveeruddin | No further structures, buildings and lighting need be contemplated, apart from minimal facilities at the entrance for the gate, regulatory entry and exit, watchman's shed, plant nursery and security. Lakes should be declared as nature or bird preserves which will be a tourist attraction and will serve as "a shining example of ecologically-wise integration of civic interest and biodiversity". None of the commercial and tourism activities like food courts, boating, water sports, aqua sports and other recreational facilities should be envisaged in the development plans of lakes. Civic bodies like MCC (Mysore City Corporation) and MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) should clear / remove encroachments and divert untreated / contaminated industrial waste and domestic sewage from flowing or being let off into the lakes from the surrounding areas. There shouldn't be construction of edifices, making new pathways by destroying the existing vegetation, creating "facilities" for the people, which invariably means destroying the surrounding green cover. There shouldn't be a rapid and unbridled / unregulated / unplanned urbanisation around the lake. There shouldn't be human-induced disturbance / interference and construction of bunds / walkways / pathways along the shores of the water bodies to facilitate the public to take a walk as it disturbs the habitat affects / depletes the population / number of migratory wading birds, which prefer shallow depth and mass migrate to other water bodies if it is unavailable. The geophysical composition of the lakeshore shouldn't be damaged and the depth of the lakebed shouldn't be altered in the name of development. Dredged material shouldn't be allowed to be pile up on the lake margin to extend the land margin, thereby damaging the shoreline vegetation, which is a critical wildlife habitat. Lakes should be protected instead of being developed. The trees surrounding the lakes shouldn't be unnecessarily / needlessly ruthlessly / mercilessly butchered / axed / cut / felled / pruned / trimmed in the name of development or road widening or beautification or obsessive traffic-management. | India, Karnataka, Mysore, Siddharthanagar, Karanji and Siddharthanagar Tax Payers' Association or KSTPA | 09 |

| 4 | P M Ravindran | Leave 'em alone should be the motto when it comes to preserving nature. And man should stop polluting the environment the way he is doing without any care not only for nature but even for fellow human beings. | Bharatapuzha Samrakshana Samithi, Malampuzha Dam Samrakshana Samithi | 09 |

| 7 | Nanda Ramesh | Very few lakes remain within city limits where nature is happy and safe and they should not be spoilt for the sake of human entertainment. Human should share such spots with the birds & animals as long as they dont affect the inhabitants in any way. We should strive to learn from nature rather than using it for thrills which will only provide very very short term benefits. | India, Karnataka, Bangalore, Basavanagudi | 09 |
