Gayle BelvinFree Rolo!! This is not an agressive animal!!
KerryI'm sorry to hear about your dog. I'm sorry the neighborhood seems frightened, as people are very excitable and crazy at times. My neighborhood is going thru the same thing...not a good thing. I'll pray for your dog to get to come home and be able to stay with you.

AnonymousI personally am somewhat scared of german shepards, however I don't think Rolo did anything close to what he's being accused of. If anyone starts screaming at a dog coming towards them, the dog will get excited. This has been completely blown out of control. GO ROLO!

Jess ThompsonIt is very unfortunate that someone was injured. But Rolo deserves at least one second chance and so do you. My heart goes out to both of you. It's terrible that this incident has escalated to such a combative level. I hope everyone involved can exercise as much compassion and forgiveness as possible and that this matter can be resolved quickly. Take care.
Susan KulsicI am seeing many cases of animals being treated unfairly. Why are they dragging their feet on this? Isn't it funny that humans can commit all types of crimes and be out the next day....but animals don't have a chance.....what is this Judge's name?
Cecilia RetelleAs long as the dog is permanently confined by his owner I honestly don't see what the problem is!
AnonymousMy heart breaks for you rand Rolo. I have owned German Shepherds for many years, and they are indeed wonderful, friendly dogs. I sincerely hope you get Rolo back. Good luck to you.
AnonymousShame on your neighbors, shame the City of Arvada. Many many kids in my neighbor would have been euthanized if that was their first offense penality. They have spray painted all over the neighborhood, broken car windows, damaged property. Who protects us for "Your Babies"? If Rolo had done this several times then there is a problem and something needs to be done. He has done it once. ONCE!!!!! If it were up to me Rolo would be at home where he belongs! I don't think killing is the answer! PS Even prisioners get out of their cells for exercise, even the MOST DANGEROUS! Rolo needs to be treated humanely.
AnonymousI hope this all works out and Rolo gets to come home soon.
AnnAmazing. Just amazing. I agree that the foot-dragging is very much intentional. Murderers get better/faster treatment than this woman and her dog do. The only thing changing the dog's temperment is being kept in a TINY cage for 24 hours a day - now THAT'S animal cruelty! How can everyone involved in this case look at themselves in the mirror at night and be happy? It's disgusting - free Rolo now!

Jeremy SisnerosClearly an overreaction from someone who doesn't understand or simply doesn't like dogs.
Melissa ReevesKeep fighting for your dog!! The dog's sentence is harsh and I think he deserves a second chance.
AnonymousWhile other cases would warrant a dog to be put down, I think in this case, it is too severe. I personally spoke with Ms. Hagan, and I feel for her and her dog Rolo. It's got to be scarey to be confronted by a dog you don't know, especially while with a child...however, this does not sound like an aggressive approach by the dog, and certainly for first time offense, you would think either a fence or a "can't walk your dog in the street" clause would apply...NOT DEATH!!!!! All I keep doing is putting myself in this poor woman's shoes and my heart breaks to think that if this ever happened to me, I'd be devastated as my dog is like my kid because I don't have kids! Please seek justice in this case, and please don't put this poor dog down. Give him a chance to correct his wrong! Especially since this was not an attack. Thank you!
Katie MartinAs a German Shepherd owner myself, I am so saddened by this story. My heart goes out to you and Rolo!
AnonymousThis is unbelievable, your neighbors have lost their minds. Perhaps their energies would be better served elsewhere. Trauma counseling for a scratch, give me a break and prepare yourself for her lawsuit.
Sharri ShawThere are so many solutions to this problem - putting Rolo down is not the answer.

Andrew CarsonArvada Municipal court is a joke. My black lab jumped on a friend of my sons (at the front door) and tried to lick his face. The kid ran home and his dad called the Arvada PD. When I came home from work, the cops gave me a "vicious dog" ticket. A Black lab? They do this because they get away with it. They made me get my dog nuetered or they were going to confiscate it. Ofiicer Cook was involved and she is a joke too. They play tough guy on all the citizens. I moved from Arvada because of this and other crap they do down there. What a crappy place to live!!!
AnonymousAs dog lovers we support Rolo!
Heather GardnerI believe this is an injustice. I agree in that owners need to take responsiblity to restrict & protect their dogs when outside of the home, however, this appears to be a simple case of the owner downplaying what happened & the victim "uplaying" the situation. It also appears that Rolo just needs some professional training on what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. I plead with the court systems to allow him the chance to have professional training to prove that he deserves to live. I have a Doberman puppy and I am taking every precaution possible to ensure that this situation does not happen to me. I am aware of the preconceived ideas of Dobermans, and I am dedicated to making my Dobie a posterchild for the breed. Bless Rolo and his family - please let him LIVE! Heather Gardner Castle Rock, CO

Nichole L ValdezI have a German Shepherd myself and I know that my dog is the bigest baby of all dogs I have come into contact with! She will jump onto your lap and melt into you! This case needs to be solved and just thrown out these people obviously have no heart if they can just sit back and see a harmless dog sit in a cage and basically just deteriorate!!! Ruthless people......
AliciaFREE ROLO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AnonymousFree Rolo now!!!!
AnonymousI know thata some dogs can be vicious but to treat a dog like a subgstandard being (as the city is doing) is not right. I have complained to the city about three dogs that bark continually behind us and nothing can be done. Our neightbors said they used to live in the country and no one complained and so why should they keep their dogs from barking 24-7. Free Rolo - especially if the owner agrees to the new fences, etc. We have a friend who lives in denver and her dog bit someone and all that dog got was 10 days quartine at the home and now can walk on a lease etc. Many times dogs are startled by a loud screem or the constant crying of a baby - don't take it out on teh dog. We support Rolo and his owner. Do not make this dog suffer - many dogs are nicer than the humans we have to deal with on a daily basis.

Anonymousgive rolo a chance , dogs are family to
NoelleThis is horrible, this poor animal needs to be back with his family. He is a living breathing creature and I am appaled at what is happening!
Stacy DorianThis case is ridicuolous. That a dog is sentenced to death for "scratching" a woman that was screaming. Was an animal behavioralist even consulted by the court? The paramedics and animal control officers indicated that essentially there was no injury, so why is this happening and what is wrong with the woman who is screaming for restitution and trauma counseling. You must be kidding. This was NOT a pit bull atttack. Please let the dog live...
Troy Hessthis is ridiculous. let the dog out.
AnonymousPlease save Rolo.
AnonymousGet on with the trial already! Ridiculous. Why isn't Rolo's treatment considered animal cruelty? Why can't he be let out of the cage, to run and stretch, even just a couple times a week with his owner? Human inmates can, while awaiting trial, for much more criminal crimes.
AnonymousPlease save Rolo.
Bruce GilbertLet me and everyone else know how to contact the court. I will write to the court on your behalf.
Vince TalaveraI am praying that your appeal is successful. I hope that Rolo will be able to go home soon! This is just terrible what they are doing to your dog. Very inhumane. He deserves a second chance.
Cedric EllisonHad the same thin happen with my 180 lb Broholmer...gate open....trashmen carrying off trash...on of them raised his hands at the dog and the dog pinched on his elbow (no blood drawn) and let loose. the dog was doing his job - protecting my property without really hurting anyone. I think Rolo was doing the same..it is a dogs instinct to chase things that run. And lets get real - be it a 70lb sheperd or my 180lb beast - they both could of really attacked and THEN there would be no question about putting them down. Did the dog go for the face? - no. Did the dog do anything more than "pinch" -story says no. Rolo should live - somewhere, but not next to that paranoid idiot.
Andi ThompsonGood luck Rolo!!
AnonymousFree Rollo.....he and his owner deserve another chance!!!!
Tamara SimmonsAs an owner of two Australian Cattle Dogs, it saddens me to see what is coming about with dogs/neighbors/authority figures. I don't even take my dogs for walks anymore, for fear that they may "herd" or "nip" someone...safer to keep them in my yard. I hope Laura gets her dog back and the City of Arvada does the right thing. It sounds as if the neighbor over reacted...wonder what she will do if her child speeds and breaks the law....all I can say is the right thing needs to happen for this poor dog.
Stacey KeltonFree Rolo. This is a terrible situation and blown out of proportion from a woman who has no understanding of dog behavior. Good luck!
Mary RamseyWhy is always the dogs fault? They have feelings and a heart too, that can break just like ours. Investigate the human that got bitten and I bet you will find she did something to Rolo to make this happen. LET HIM GO HOME!
AnonymousI think this sentence is extremely unfair and sincerely hope that Rolo's life is spared and he is allowed to return home to you!
Darion PetersonRolo deserves to have his appeal quickly. The judge and neigbors of Laura should be ashamed of themselves for such callous disregard of the life of this animal.
Rex KroemerLets put them in a cage and see how they like it.
