Comments: Dear Yamaha ! please bite into the Apple. Don't be afraid it is not poisoned. Just do it for the fellow mLan - Macusers, which are still out there - without a fully functional device "as it should be"...

Comments: I'm an mLan user on the XP side of this, and since the last update things have been going stronger for us. But still way to late, I've had my mLan equipment for over a year before that. Now it's up to Yamaha and Apple to fix things for the brothers and sisters on the mac. Until now, Yamaha has not been doing too good. The last update for mac was: too little too late and way too long ago. For more than a year-and-a-half Yamaha has not released any mLan equipment. It's the other way around, the i88x, one of mLan's most promising devices was taken out of production, shortly after the 01x's started to dissapear. Companies endorsing mLan, like presonus (firestation), korg (triton expansion), terratec (phase24) and others don't mention mLan anymore. The reason is obvious; the drivers don't work as promising as was expected. When I bought my 01x, and shortly after that my i88x, I was promised by Yamaha mLan would be their new flagship and I was confident that my future equipment, from Yamaha or other brands, would be compatible with mLan. Maybe next Namm I don't count on it anymore.

Comments: After realising my 01X was virtually unusable in a professional situation with the G4 Powerbook I owned, I bought an M-Audio Firewire Solo as an interim solution, just so I could carry on recording until the driver updates were released. That was over 2 years ago now and my 01X is still collecting dust. I've never bought a piece of equipment that has been so useless (& lost value so quickly!) I can't believe that the only thing that is holding it up is a bit of code. I feel totally cheated and I don't care who is responsible, just sort it out!

Comments: I have been "cheated " on the promise of a workable solution for music arrangements and compositions. I have the i88x and mLAN option for the motif ES6. The investment was primarily geared to make my workflow easier on the macintosh platform running logic Pro. howeverIt irks me that a so called reputable company like Yamaha makes such unusable audio interfaces ( leave alone the promise of a dream system). They should clearly advertise that this system is not for the mac platform. Not doing so is clearly misinformation.

Comments: I have an 01X that I consider unuseable until the offset issue is fixed. All I want is issue 2. 3 and 6. Issue 7 goes without saying . . . issue 1 would be nice but 2, 3 and 6 are essential and about 2 years overdue . . .

Comments: The 01x is a nice piece of hardware, but the Mac OS X drivers and software is not up to it. I have tried to use it on the road with iBooks and PowerBooks and you just can't trust on it to work when recording live performances. For "studio" work the timing problems, CPU spiking etc makes using the 01x/i88x a bit frustrating.

Comments: The initial coup of having Apple write the mLAN drivers for OSX has worn off... mLAN can and does work on PC, but Yamaha must take control of driver development if they are to compete with the rock solid stability of MOTU's, Avid's and other's offerings. OSX is still a fundamentally faster than XP in my experience so I believe Yamaha should pursue this.

Comments: I for one was very excited about the mLan concept and bought into whole heartily. My mLan system consists of a Motif ES7, 01X, and a i88x. I also invested in a Powermac (PPC) G5 which was to be the powerhorse of my system. Little did I know at the time of purchase that the Mac platform wasn't fully functional in OSX. Mlan was advertised as being cross platformed. I have waited now for 18 months Hoping to realize my dream studio set-up. I am very dissapointed because the G5 was a major investment for me and I love the Mac platform, not to mention the money I invested into my mLan system. I am pleading to you to please address the problems that we Mac users Have waited so long for.

Comments: Having been responsible not just for my own purchase of an 01X, but also 3 others for different installations - all on Mac's - the situation is frankly embarassing. The carrot has been dangling for too long now, it's time for things to get fixed and deliver on what was promised in the first place.

Comments: Whilst Yamaha might have prime responsibility for ensuring their hardware interfaces properly with Mac OS, they tell us that this is currently dependant on Apple fixing the OSX Firewire drivers that serve mLan. I believe them. Are we also to believe that Apple are incapable of matching, within their own operating system, the professionalism of companies who seem to have no trouble at all coding rock steady drivers for OSX. Please tell me this is not so. If I can not rely on mLan within OSX sufficiently within the near future, my next PC purchase will, regrettably, not be an Apple. Please, Apple, take note of this petition.

Comments: I believed what was written on the box when I bought a 01X-i88x Combo. After a year of struggle to get it to do the written promises, I gave up - sold the gear - lost money. Booth involved companies - Yamaha and Apple - should value their customer base more. The basic idea of Mlan is brilliant - the state of the art is just less than poor.
