TO THE GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND, BALTIMORE COUNTY EXECUTIVE AND THE BALTIMORE COUNTY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Baltimore County Board of Education is considering eliminating Mays Chapel Park and building a new school to house the current student population at Ridge Ruxton School upon the grounds now known as Mays Chapel Park. We, the undersigned, petition the State of Maryland and Baltimore County to: 1. allow the Mays Chapel Park to remain as standing; 2. place/build the proposed school in another location in Baltimore County; or 3. keep the school at its current location on Charles Street. This will allow the large senior citizen population residing in Mays Chapel to continue to use this park for exercise and needed socialization, as well as allow Baltimore County Parks and Recreation to continue their use of the athletic fields at this location by the youth of Baltimore County.
