Save the Materials Science Undergraduate Office

104 Signatures Goal: 250

As many of you may be aware, plans for the removal and restructure, of the Undergraduate office in the Materials department, from its current location are being formulated. This is not a move that will benefit the undergraduate students of our department. The change will entail the UG office being moved onto the pink and lime corridor from the RSM foyer to the walkway. This is a busy corridor and access to the office will be limited. Also the office administrators will be split up; the heart of the department will be removed. Not only this but it will not solely be a Materials UG office, it will be shared with other departments, meaning that you may not even get to speak to someone who knows anything about your course; even handing in coursework will become a chore. The atmosphere will no longer be the caring place it is today, you will not be able to simply \'pop\' in and ask questions and yield relevant helpful answers! Our UG office is one of the best run at Imperial College, and we should not have to sacrifice it! We should, as a student body, be allowed the same privileges we are currently awarded. Not only does the UG office help to bind the whole department; together to create a harmonious atmosphere, but it also facilitates a better learning environment. Sign this petition today, to stop the move and keep our UG office!
