| 403 | Katie DiPietro | I just relocated from Miami and heard of Eastern Market through an acquantance who suggested I exhibit some of my work there. Miami's independent art scene is a huge part of South Florida culture, and I was looking forward to becoming part of the D.C. art scene. To hear that these acts are being taken again Market 5 gives me the impression that modern art is not respected in our nation's capital. All the best to those involved, I stand behind you now. |

| 406 | Brooke Seeliger | I come to DC every year and one of the first things I do is to visit the Market 5 gallery and I spend most of my vacation money at this location. I spend it here because of its DIVERSE, COMMUNITY-ORIENTED culture. I would consider it a devasting loss and would whole heartedly boycott this place if it turned into another homogenized goverment run entity. This space has become one my most favorite things about DC because it's obvious it's run by the people and for the people. And isn't that what democracy and America is all about. Shame on you to take that away in a city that already has tremendous economic and racial disparity and discrimination. |
| 407 | Ann Hughes | I have been a vendor at this market and it was fantastic in its diversity and sense of "family" there is no question that OPM would destroy that in a heartbeat. Greed has done enough to ruin DC let it stop here. |

| 414 | Jeannie M. McCormick | As someone who has grown up and lived in the DC area for most of my life, it makes me VERY sad to hear that part of this great city's history is being threatened. I have been in many cities around the world, and none are quite as beautiful as DC's. It would be ashame to take something like this away from our community and generations of children yet to experience the greatness of the Eastern Market! The Eastern Market is a wonderful piece of DC's culture and our country's history. Moving it or taking it away completely would be tragic, to say the least.
Best Regards,
Jeannie M. McCormick |

| 420 | Hattie P. Lawrence | Eastern Market has been around as long as I can remember and it's an historical landmark. I would be sorry to see it abolished. |

| 423 | Gene Hunt | Market5 is a true Capitol Hill treasure. This is exactly what I thought would happen with the 'new' Eastern Market. It will no doubt become a new mall for mainstream commercial chains rather than a forum for the arts and local merchants. It's a real shame. What should we expect next: a new Starbucks and McDonald's next to the Baby Gap? Market5 has always been a wonderful forum for local artists of all political and artistic points of view. Shame on OPM. |

| 436 | Joyce Clark | I bring friends and neighbors from out-of-town and the surrounding suburbs of Virginia to both Sat and Sunday markets... Many have purchased Gallery art work and crafts and have returned to purchase and bring others with them again. They are delighted with the quality, the price and the way they are able to support the artists who do need this venue for their work. Please keep it alive!! |

| 444 | Karl Riemer | The City probably has laudable, or at least defensible, aspirations for the space. It needs to recognize that acting this way defames any such plans and ruins any chance of public support for them. The City must first and always be a good landlord, supportive sponsor and advocate for grassroots organizations. LEAVE MARKET 5 ALONE! |
