| 3 | william griffiths | We need Mayor Fenty to stand up and be the visionary and the Hero we believe he is to save this Gallery. Market 5 is a piece of DC history that cannot be replaced once it is gone--much like Ward 9 in New Orleans. More than any other entity, Market 5 and its Weekend Craft Market has added to the property values of Capitol Hill's Eastern Market area. And Ironically for this he is being repaid by eviciton by white, gentrifying forces. And I'm white. This is something Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson needs to hear about if our own City is not wise enough to protect its own. |

| 8 | Margie Hatch | I just learned of Market 5 Gallery this past summer when I went to a Tango Milonga. I had no idea such a beautiful and welcoming cultural venue existed in DC until then. I feel so at home in its humble atmosphere and can't imagine it being taken away. Please do all you can to preserve this precious place! |

| 13 | Rita Liebowitz | Mayor Fenty, I was born and raised in the District of Columbia. I love this city. There are historic places of value to me that represent my childhood and what this city has always meant to me. Please, please step in and save the Gallery. You can do this. You have the authority and I know the compassion for this city. Thank you |

| 30 | Deborah Ellis | I can't imagion our Capitol Hill neighborhood without the Gallery 5 Market. The residents and folks who travel from VA and MD every weekend to attend the market are as dependent on the Market as the vendors who's living is contingent on the Market presence. Let me know what else I can do to preserve this vital institution. |

| 32 | Gilbert M. Polt | As a citizen, attorney and voter, I strongly request and urge you to SUPPORT Market 5 Gallery at the North Hall of Eastern Market. If you do not understand its inherent cultural, ethnic and artisitc value, go attend one of he many functions held there. |

| 34 | Tamara Embrey | Where else can microbusinesses get such exposure? This seems like a class issue to me. Someone trying to crush the American Dream. You should be ashamed. |

| 36 | Hattie Lawrence | I've been a regular participant and supporter of the Market5 Gallery for 15 years and would hate to see it closed. It's a valuable part of the community. |

| 44 | Natalya Savranskaya | The Eastern Market 5 Gallery has served as a wonderful venue for tango dancers to come to learn and perform. It has a very fitting environment and it would be a cultural crime to destroy it. |
| 45 | Johanna Bockman | I support the Eastern Market milonga. It is a wonderful activity. |

| 48 | n. m. backus | please do not evict market 5 gallery. it is a cultural touchstone of d.c., and part of this city's unique history and composition. |
| 49 | Franck Amyot | |
| 50 | Bejnamin Burton | Almost all of my visits to Eastern Market have been to the milongas (Argentine Tango social dances) at the Market 5 Gallery.
This is the sort of space and activity that other cities envy: genuinly diverse and integrated use of a semi-public space for public enjoyment.
It is exactly the sort of activity that cities should bend over backwards to nurture and conserve, rather than allowing our "good friends" the market forces destroy it. |
