Tim Abline | The Mount Arlington Police Department are highly trained, professional Officers who take pride in serving our community. They have dedicated their life’s to serve and protect the citizens of Mount Arlington and in doing so enhanced the quality of life in our ever increasing community. Now it’s time for the residents of this town to stand together and protect them. Please help Save MAPD so our town can continue to receive the highest level of professional law enforcement services.
| 3 | steve norman | This is a time where the residents in town need to ban together and help the police dept and give them the backing that they need !
Help the Boys in Blue |
Maureen Goode | Although I am not a resident of Mt. Arlington, I feel I have every right to sign this petition, since my husband is one of the police officers who could lose his job. Residents of Mt. Arlington, please be aware the Mayor is only telling you what you want to hear. There is also a very negative side to his plan and you should ask questions. Please attend the council meetings and seek the truth!!!

connie and keith nilsen | i feel that mt arlington should maintain it's independence from roxbury and jefferson for the same reasons we have always maintainted our independence from these towns. if mayor ondish wants to save money, he should volunteer his mayorship(without pay) and cut school taxes. i thought mt arlington was doing financially well with all the new 55+ communities tax revenues. was this not what we were told during the town meetings regarding the development of bertrand island rd? was this not what we were told for the howard blvd carriage house and independent living facility? was this not what we were told for the riverview condos? did not mt arlington save a lot of money when a new fire truck was donated? TIME TO LOOK AT THE BOOKS AND FIND OUT WHERE ALL THIS MONEY IS GOING!!! and lastly, cannot mt arlington save $42,000 from not hiring a survey team and just take the "time" to look at the numbers themselves? what's your answer?

Audrey Svenningsen | I urge Mayor Ondish and our Council to be diligent in their research and cautious in their conclusions. The Mt. Arlington Police Department is a part of "who we are." They have kept our community safe and been responsive to its citizens. I am not in favor of merging their services with another township.
thomas borgia | you were not elected to jepordize the saftey and well being of the community
Anonymous | I do not want my town to lose control over how its policed. In the long run is it really cost effective? I am law enforcement officer in Morris County. The Mine Hill / Wharton merger did not provide better services to the residents of Mine Hill. I believe in the long run it will cost the town more money and the only people who gain from it are the residents from the contracted town. I believe Chief Fernandez got a substantial raise from the merger. I think that $42,000.00 could have been put to better use. How come Mt. Arlington PD was not included in the policing efforts of Lake Hopatcong which could have generated more revenue for the town.

Donna Blakely | Do NOT disband our Police Department!
Renee Hess | SAVE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Hess, Kenneth | In this world today we need more police and faster help when called upon. This is a terrible idea for our wonderful little town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LORI FIORELLO |
Theresa Hagan | What a great target for crime..a 1/2 of police department. Do we live in the same world? Crime is not getting better why would you put dollars before the saftey of people? I would be outraged as a tax payer if someone in my community talked of any kind of "shared police force". You are lucky enough to have your own, we have to use the State Police and they are spread so thin it can take up to 45 mins to get a response!!!
Henry Henderson, Jr. | Their response time is quick, no matter what the call is for.
Christine Licata |
Bencivengo Thomas | They have tried this before but this is the first time a Chief had backed them.
Anonymous | I'm sure the savings proposed are extremely minimal when compared to the security of having our own police force. Their presence is always seen and the response time is amazing. The security in that for me and my teenage daughter is priceless.

Alan Mark Glogovsky | It would be a major crime for the Boro of Mt. Arlington to disband the Police Department.

Melissa Huizenga | Having your OWN Police Dept. in the town that you live in is ALWAYS more beneficial than having another Dept. take over your Town, because the Connection and Trust formed between the community and the officers is a bond that has been developed over a long period of time; a bond that can't be replaced by outsiders who know nothing about the people and the community as a whole. The Best Thing for the Mayor to do, is to Think about the Safety and Concerns of the Public in which he serves and Re-think his intensions of a Break Up of Our Police Department! Remember- The Mayor is only an elected position - The members of the Community Will Always have the Last Say. Taxes paid for A Police Dept. is Always a 'Yes' on a voting Ballot.
