Her tragic gesture is sadly the typical outcome of poor mental health management and the failure of Children Protective Services to maintain comprehensive, early intervention services provision that would effectively protect Poor Children of Color with Parents suffering from mental illness, and enable them to remain safely within their extended family nest, in accordance with the healthy tradition that prevails in Families of Color An overwhelming number of death row female inmates, nationwide, are battered women or women with serious chronic mental health issues, killing their partner or children in a moment of desperate insanity. Lashaun\'s tragic action is unmistakably the epitome of such psychological makeup. Due to her long standing history of schizophrenia, Lashaun should be immediately transfered to an acute mental health facility, and does not belong behind bars or on the racist death row... The death penalty has not been enforced in San Francisco since its reinstatement in Callifornia in 1978. In spite of overwhelming pressure from the POA in February 2004, you courageously stood your grounds and refused to recommend the death penalty for African American David Hill, alleged killer of Officer Isaac Espinoza.
