The council has officially scrapped the plan to withdraw funding so Lancaster House is staying open. I am drained from this long fight but I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us push back against this closure. We will keep a close watch to ensure our home remains secure …

Lancaster House Under Threat - Please Show YOUR Support & Sign this petition - Thank You so much!

"On the 17th of June, Positive Lifestyles received news that Supporting People were recommending to Salford City Council that funding should be withdrawn for Lancaster House. This decision is due to be "Rubber-Stamped" on the 1st of August.

If this decision is put through the council, Lancaster House will close on the 30th September resulting in 38 Service Users back out into uncertainty and 14 members of staff out of work. The service users have began the campaign to save our home and are working non-stop not just to save the roof over our heads but a safe place for future generations of Salford residents. This has involved speaking to the press and also lobbying MP's and Councillors. We will not stop until we have firm guarentees from the council that our home is safe and that this vital service will remain open to us and also to the people of Salford. If you wish to support the campaign or hear the latest news we would love to hear from you, you can join our Facebook or Twitter pages (details of which are below) or please e-mail me [email protected] . We will save our home and we will save this succesful service.

The momentum building behind this campaign feels heavy and real. I am exhausted from the constant lobbying but seeing this level of backing proves we are on the right track to hold the council accountable.

Ridiculous decision. Council needs to wake up and see the damage they are doing to real people.
