Comments: West Islip does not needed another 24 hr drugstore chain across the street from another 24 hr drugstore chain. The Historic La Grange bldg. should not be torn apart and moved back in order to accommodate the Walgreens Bldg. The property should not be rezoned from Residential to Commercial to accommodate a large bldg. that is not needed. If Walgreens fails WI will be left with an eyesore vacant bldg. SAVE THE LA GRANGE AND ITS PROPERTY!!

Comments: The question we need to ask ourselves is: is this the best land use we can come up with some of the few remaining national historical properties along the South Shore This area unquestionably can be turned into a center of town for West Islip. So Walgreens wants to reduce the size of the LaGrange Inn to its original size and character and construct a store directly across the street from another drug store I have a better idea that can generate goodwill for Walgreens nationally: have Walgreens return the LaGrange Inn to its original size and put a small sign to the effect that the surrounding land was donated to West Islip by Walgreens for the use of future generations of Long Islanders. Create a town center courtesy of Walgreens without the store. Have these corporate giants invest in the local communities in a very direct way. We have no town center and here is our chance. Put in some grass and trees so residents can visit the LaGrange Historical Park. You all know this would never happen in a historic north shore community. Why should we allow it to happen here

Comments: we really don't need 2 drugstores across the street from eachother, one will close just like true value on union. The traffic congestion it will cause at the higbie/montauk hwy is another problem

Comments: This will increase traffic to an already dangerous and congested intersection that is feet away from a library and elementary school where a lot of children walk and ride their bikes.

Comments: Montauk highway is already congested enough. The increased truck traffic will put an additional stress on our roads and put our children at risk.

Comments: There is also an elementary school across the street. A Walgreens would severely hinder the morning and dismissal routine, especially for our young children who walk through the area.

Comments: I agree that taking down the La Grange Inn and replacing it with a Walgreens is outragous. Not only because of the character it adds to our town, but for the fact that we already have a hug.eh drug store across the street (CVS). I find it incredible that the town would allow such a travesty to occur.
