Comments: It is not difficult to save some heritage, in this case only a facade - it just costs a few more dollars. That is why developers and those who contract them rarely do it. Kyogle Council has failed this community by ignoring an important heritage study. Vote CEG

Comments: The character of Kyogle should be maintained. Make no mistake, the character of a town is extremely important, it what attracts visitors, and keeps locals. Lose it and it becomes what has happened to so many dying towns across Australia, they decline in population as soon as the pride people have in their town is gone.

These qualities enhance the tourism values and potential of Kyolgle for all.To disregard these value is social vandalism, of the most ignorant kind.Dont ruin this piece of social history that enhances the aesethetic appeal of Kyogle!

Comments: This building is beautiful. How disastrous if we have to describe this stunning example of art deco architecture to our children. "There once was a lovely building here but due to ridiculous reasons, we replaced it with a modern supermarket." How disgraceful. How disappointing. Let it not get to this. Let's hold on to our local heritage.

Comments: This building must be saved! Kyogle is a small country town – buildings of this calibre prove that Kyogle was once an important town in our region. Kyogle has a history, it's unique and is best expressed in it's historic architecture! It's criminal to destroy this building.

Comments: As a former resident of Kyogle I know how important all the art deco buildings are in giving the main street a wonderful, distinctive character. If council allows this to be whittled away for spurious reasons that are not true impediments to the function required they are doing the future of kyogle town and it's people a great disservice.

Comments: As a Sydney visitor to your region i value the unique architecture and culture that country towns bring. Victoria is leading Australia in it's acknowledgement of Architectural Heritage and it is about time NSW came up to standard. Your community will benefit greatly from a well designed integrated Business that puts back into the community without ripping out the history, yes that is correct, just like they do in Europe!

Comments: Under NO circumstance may these building's facades be destroyed as they are truly amongst the most beautiful and definitely the most unique and characteristic facades of Kyogle's main street.. One only has to look at the present Ritchie's IGA shopfront to realise their complete and utter disrespect for the town's asthetics. Their proposal to demolish the existing building's facades at their new site and the facade they wish to replace it with emphasises their continued disrepect towards Kyogles architectural heritage and charm.

Comments: I feel extremely disappointed with the decision of Kyogle Council and find it hard to believe that people of such standing could be so shortsighted. One only has to look down the main street of Kyogle to become aware that the ugliest building is currently occupied by IGA. Is this what is going to replace these beautiful buildings that sould be saved not just for us but for our future generations.
