Name: Andre Torrez on Jan 20, 2011Comments: The decision by USF to sell KUSF's broadcasting license is a disservice to the community and goes against the core jesuit values by making money a priority in a institution of learning. The way in which the University is going about this is totally shamefull. There should have been an open forum for the public in order for the station to have had the opportunity to fundraise or restructure instead of being abruptly taken off the air and silenced.Flag

As a leader in higher education the school is remiss, misguided and acting in an activist manner to silence and dilute an important venue in innovative musical expression of San Francisco.Flag

Name: Stephanie Chang on Jan 20, 2011Comments: The sudden sale of KUSF is NOT in keeping with USF's Jesuit values, and does not reflect the USF that I was so glad to attend. As an alumni who has made frequent donations to support the University's student programs, I will no longer support USF in the future if this sale is allowed to go through. This was done with absolutely no prior warning to the community and student volunteers who run KUSF and Rev. Privett needs to acknowledge that doing so is a grave error.Flag

Name: Daniel Shoup on Jan 20, 2011Comments: I'm shocked and appalled at USF's flagrant disregard for the work all of the KUSF volunteers have done representing the University and serving the community with original and innovative programming over the last 35 years. Despite its ostensible commitment to 'justice' and Christian values, the University has behaved in an abusive way to its own students, volunteers, and the San Francisco community that it claims to serve. I hope and expect that the administration will reconsider the decision to sell the station.Flag

I remember my friends Winston and Raw B with their show Beatsausce. As someone who worked in the bar industry for over 15 years, I know that KUSF was instrumental to the Sf live music scene,Flag

Name: Nancy Stricker on Jan 21, 2011Comments: I've listened to KUSF for over 25 years. I made a donation to KUSF at the end of December, 2010 and it was acknowledged by USF that the funds would go to KUSF. Then less than a month later there is no KUSF. So where did my donation go? I really feel a class action suit can be filed against them as least by all donators!Flag

Name: Nancie Lualhati on Jan 21, 2011Comments: The loss of KUSF is devastating to our music and arts community. The irony of a classical music station silencing another radio station so vibrant and influential is tragic. KUSF featured music across all geographies and styles, including classical. Our local music community has been in a slow decline over the last 10 years. It's KUSF that was the only voice in broadcast local music events. I love KUSF. With so many "injured" SF residents, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a class action lawsuit in this!Flag

Name: Tom Engelhardt on Jan 21, 2011Comments: I am signing this petition to show my support for an organization that provides a valuable creative and communicative outlet for students. It baffles me to no end that college campuses continually relinquish control over radio stations that were likely established to encourage student growth in the art of broadcasting. If the station is sold, then the call letters must change, for the station no longer represents the voice of the University of San Francisco. It now represents the shallow financial goals of an ignorant administration.Flag
