KTSU has been an iconic radio station in Houston for almost 37 years, playing jazz "in all its colors". It has exposed the Houston audience to the big swing days of Count Basie and Duke Elington, to the contemporary artist of today. On any given day, blues, gospel, and straight ahead jazz could be heard. President John Rudley has proposed a change of programming, catering mostly to urban contemporary/r&b pop. This leaves Houston without a station devoted to promoting a strong and diverse jazz culture. The famous Latin Jazz program was done away with near a year ago, even though it was the only one of its kind. If you are concerned and have felt the impact of the lack of cultural diversity in Houston, PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION, PASS IT ALONG TO FRIENDS AND LETS SHOW PRESIDENT RUDLEY THAT HOUSTON NEEDS KTSU TO REMAIN A STATION THAT BRINGS "JAZZ IN ALL ITS COLORS AND A WHOLE LOT MORE"!!! President John Rudley We the undersigned are concerned with the new programming you are implementing at KTSU. In your efforts to "improve" the style of programming, you are taking away the only jazz radio station of Houston. This handicaps Houston's cultural diversity, musicians and avid listeners. Thank you for your time
