643 Naomi BishopMelbourne is in danger of losing the very culture that has made it an interesting and desirable place to live and to visit.. Cities are made great by communites, arts and culture, and are diminished when they become prohibitively expensive. A 48% rent increase would force most businesses to close their doors, how can a non profit organistion be expected to survive. It is time we Australians realised the importance art. It way it enlivens our cities and enriches our lives.

647 AnonymousA viable and dynamic art studio is at risk. The owners should recognise they have a reliable and stable income from the property and could lose income - by the site remaining untennanted or have to pay out to refit the building for another tennant if a more reasonable rent increase is not negotiated.
