John D. Williams | Please keep Kansas City's signature music alive and well. INCREASE jazz airtime; don't decrease an already-sparse offering.
Brian Bruce | We need to do all we can to preserve our city's Jazz tradition. KKFI...give us back our jazz!
Robert Folsom | I want more jazz in this Jazz Town!
Kathryn Shut | Independent jazz programming is VITAL to maintain a sense of culture in a community. This music is well loved and should be preserved.

Alice Jenkins | I am so disappointed that jazz and blues are being cut back. Kansas City is a music town. Please reconsider your plans. If anything, there should be more jazz and blues.
David Agee | We need more music and less talk
Joe Moon |
Tom | keep the jazz!
| 16 | Jennifer Leitham | Why be so unkind to America's only indigenous art form?
Surely Kansas City's contributions to the history of Jazz should be reason enough for broadcasting Jazz. It's an important part of Kansas City's heritage! |
Matt Leifer |
Kati O'Riordan | I miss my noontime jazz. Some of us can't listen except from noon -1. Have been for years!

Frank | Stations today have enough crap on rotation; It's time that some real music be kept alive...The mainstream comes and goes; jazz will be around forever!

denny osburn | We need six HOURS AT LEAST of Jazz every day on KKFI
Lorena Gregory |
jimmy scalise | good luck!
Rick Truelove | Come on folks. How do you really benefit from this move? And more importantly, how does your listening community benefit? I'm sure that where the rubber meets the road, your sales and marketing department cannot produce financial results from this reduction in jazz-air. So, please reconsider the change - please.
Glenn Patrik | Kansas City is a jazz town. If the youngsters don't grow up with jazz on the radio, I'm afraid that jazz will soon die. The youngsters certainly do not have the options for live jazz that I had growing up in the late 60's and early 70s KC when you could go down to the C.C. Plaza on Sunday afternoon and listen to Buddy Rich or Count Basie, or so many clubs and hear the real guys. Don't let it slide!
stan kessler |
| 36 | mark hargadine | only station in kc playing jazz at this time of the day.
pease return to 3 hour programs for this music. in the past i have helped with on air pledge drives, and would be happy to continue only if programming is returned to 3 hours for jazz. |
Scott Whitfield |
Larry van Loon | Reflecting and being a part of the outstanding KC musical community has given KKFI a listenership other community access stations only dream about.
| 39 | Gary D. Head | Maintaining a Healthy mix of Cultural Artistic Works of ALL sorts keeps a metropolitan entity from stagnating, differrent formats require LIVE presentations to be fully appreciated, the interplay of Live Musicians in an audience rich invironment is what it's all about....

John Zimmermann | Jazz is a cornerstone to the KC community and big part of our heritage. Please keep our past in focuxs as we move toward the future.
| 42 | Megan Birdsall | KKFI is platform for great Jazz music in our community and it would be an ignorant travesty to see it diminished....thank you to those of you who are putting together this petition let me know if I can do more...
Megan Birdsall |
Chris Burnett | Jazz is popular on KKFI. Don't cut the programming or change to some other format. There are already enough of those type stations out there. It's not just the fact that KKFI has "jazz", it has arguably some of the most forward thinking programming of music covering all facets of the genre - independent and local releases to the big name acts...
leslie hamilton | bring jazz back!
Kristina Ning | Ridiculous, like we need LESS jazz in Kansas City!
Jon-Erik Kellso |
tamara nell |
Brigette Watson |
Dave Dickey | I was suprised and sad to hear that KKFI was planing on cutting back on their jazz programming. Kansas City is rich in it's history of jazz and this city needs to keep jazz alive, including on the radio.
LeRoy Downs | This music has to thrive and not fall by the way side. This is our art form which needs to be supported and respected.
