Name: Michael Mannoia on Jul 20, 2009Comments: This historic site is popular among teenagers. It is a nearby evening activity. This movie theater should remain in order to get teens out of the house in a safe nearby environment and enhance their social activities in a safe res[respectful manner. If you want to spend money, spend it on making the theater the place of choice for more teens and families.Flag

Name: Kristen Silverthorn Carter on Jul 20, 2009Comments: This building should be saved, but a group already attempted that and it failed. The current owner was nice enough to put aside his plans for demo and agreed to let people try to save it, but he is probably tired of paying taxes on a failed business venture. It needs to be ran as a movie theater again, not a playhouse or comedy club. Someone with knowledge about how to run a movie theater needs to intervene in this mess or we will lose our theater.Flag

Name: Debra Doyle on Jul 20, 2009Comments: Why do we have to keep on destroying our past, why must everything be newer, bigger and better. Does anyone miss the way things use to be Are we going to keep throwing away our past till there is nothing left Most of the people who grew up in Islip remember the first movie they saw there and I am sure that they would love to see it fixed so that it could proudly be displayed as the landmark that it is. I will sign a hundred petitions to see the above NOT happen.Flag

Not only should we not knock the building down but someone should reopen the Islip Theater, let our kids have the same good memories of the place growing up as we did.Flag
