Kurt Hoffman9225301From my stand point, without it, I know I will purchase a whole lot less music (CD's).Please don't force web broadcasters to shut down because of ridiculous overcharges. Web radio is one of the few things I enjoy.Radio Paradise
Rosemary Wood4413501If you can't hear the music, it hurts everyone. You can't buy what you don't know about. Commercial radio is too busy playing commercials to be able to play any kind of music that might interest their listeners.CRB is getting a little greedy, don't you think? You have no foresight! How will I learn about new music if you kill internet radio?AccuRadio
Anonymous6257301helps a lot, this way you can hear it before you purchsase it, also i have made purchases on CD i have never heard of until i heard them here thanks ,,Christmas, Blues, 80s ROCK and RAT Pack
Anonymous4837701I would think it would help, since it introduces people to new artist or different sounds. I would think that if a person likes a particular album or song the would download it (by paying) to put it on there MP3 player. It's like going to a store and hearing the album before you buy it.Celtic and Indie rock stations
Anonymous8460401definitely helpsI like to listen to internet radio in order to find songs I want to download off of itunes. Our local radio stations play the same things over and over and have an apalling lack of taste. I also enjoy having the ability to skip songs I find offensive. Most of my itunes purchases stem from artists or songs I discovered through internet radio.accuradio

RolandF-0662001In my case, it helpsInternet radios are my source of inspiration for bying cds especialy from Anglo/Saxon artists - I'm a French listener/citizen. How can I make the choices for the music for me to buy if you take the album samples away from me? or maybe you don't want me to buy due to a lake of choice by killing the internet radios.Radio Paradise, Atlantic Sound Factory, Sky.fm, 4URadios

Eric Johnson8260901Unquestionably, internet radio helps the music industry. Please reconsider this ridiculous royalty hike. This will have a terrible effect on many recording artists, webcasters, and music enthusiasts.Pearadio, Radio Paradise
Jay Sheeds7810901Helps the music industry in much the same way that early FM radio exposed listeners to new musicInternet radio is not piracy, only the natural evolution of broadcast mediaRadio Paradise
Jade Grigori8633601That will be up to them to determine, based in how well they respond to new emerging technologies and the people's utilization of them.Do the right thing.RadioParadise.com

Anonymous9846601Helps.I am disgusted that the Copyright Office is just a puppet. Doing away with internet radio just pisses me off! RIAA sucks big dicks!
Regina01Internet radio helps the music industry. Due to internet radio I've learned about artists and types of music I wouldnt have known about otherwise.
Regina01Internet radio helps the music industry. Due to internet radio I've learned about artists and types of music I wouldnt have known about otherwise.
Ann Hummel01Internet radio makes more music available to more listeners. Listeners have more choices in stations, and the stations are likely to broadcast to fans who are interested in expanding their music libraries.Radio Paradise, WCPE, WETA
Anonymous0304504Helps the music industry by giving more artists exposure they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.www.groovesalad.com
Chip Curle3004001The internet radio stations have exposed me to music and bands that I would not have heard on regular radio, which in return has made me buy more music. This ruling is absolutely absurd. Why does the internet have to pay 5 times the amount of satellite and radio doesn't pay at all? This is setting technology back decades if this passes.radioIO.com
craig mills02Helps expose many artists who we would never have heard ofvery concerned rates could make it impossible for stations to survive
james fineman3293504it doesnt hurt the music industry any more then the radio doesdont shut down!!!!
Brent W. Brown9300301Helps. Increases awareness of lesser played songs promoting purchase of cd or mp3.accuradio
AnonymousCanada01I love my internet radio and since it's existed, I've *bought* more music than ever before - music I never would have known existed. I AM NOT a mainstream listener - please allow all of us, the passionate music lovers around the world, an alternative to mainstream. Please stop this from going through!! All radio channels - digital or otherwise - should be treated equally.www.radioparadise.com

Krystyna Sullivan3006401I listen to internet music because I can't get radio music when I'm sitting in a windowless room. I've been exposed to new music and because of it and the easy links, I have ordered CDs on the internet. I would never have done that if I didn't listen to internet music.Accuradio

Karen Nathan9574701I think it helps the music industry. If I like something I hear on Internet radio, I will usually buy the CD or downloaded the song or songs. Otherwise, I would of never heard the song or music.I can't listen to regular radio at work, to many commercials and eratic play lists. I can not listen to my MP3 player as I wear a headset at work.I love internet radio. I listen while working and I don't have to worry about pesty comercials or obscene language were it is inapproriate. I can try new music, that I normally would not listen to. It expands my music knowledge.
Neil Olson5003601It helps!! I am able to hear music from artists I would not know of by any other circumstances. Please, We need your help on this matter!!!Padio Paradise, KPIG
Anonymous0290601It helps the music industry because it exposes listeners to music that they would not hear on corporate radio. With exposure to all sorts of new music, the consumer is likely to buy more from a greater variety of artists.

Michelle Vaughn2751701Internet radio HELPS the music industry, without a doubt. Every CD purchase I've made in the last 4 years came after I heard something I liked on internet radio. Prior to my discovery of internet radio, I hadn't bought a CD in years.Internet radio has increased my spending on music in the last 4 years (since I started listening). The only terrestrial radio I listen to is NPR and Talk radio. Any exposure I get to music is through internet radio. I can't believe the record companies don't realize what a boon internet radio is to their business. I can't imagine purchasing anything without having first heard it on internet radio like SomaFM, Pandora, and RadioParadise.Radioparadise, SomaFM (Indie Pop Rocks), Pandora

Rachel Kaplan1000301HELPS, Internet radio listeners are true lovers of music who respect the labours of the musicians.Listening to Internet radio has renewed my deep interest in music, allowing me to be exposed to music I love. I do not listen to any other radio. I buy A LOT more music since I have discovered the wonderful world of Internet radio. Please don't take away this staple of my life.Radio Paradise -- www.radioparadise.com
Gregory Faison3810402I believe it helps by increasing the opportunities for underground musicians to get their music played on national Internet radio. It is of the utmost importance that our performance royalty system take into consideration the value of smaller Internet radio stations. There needs to be changes made that will allow these stations to continue to function.3WK, Radioio
Jeigh Aguilera7993801SomaFM - Indie Pop Rocks, Pandora
Jennifer Hallberg3361701I think it helps the industry, because it promotes music that may not be getting heard on local radio stations.Accuradio.com
Anonymous3018901Helps by providing choice
John Nikelsky9269101Absolutely helps!! What, terrestrial radio is gonna expose new artists?? HAHAHACongress needs to address and overturn the unforseen damage to this new Internet radio industry caused by the original bill. The Voice of the People will be heard!Radio Paradise, Legato Cafe, any good oldies stations (50s-60s) like RichBroRadio (Rich "Brother" Robbins) and Oldies 104
Janell Kelly9323004It helps it. It makes people aware of artists that listeners may not of heard of....introduces them to new genresCRB has no right to make a decision like this. I enjoy listening to Accu Radio, and would be furious if they closed down. Seems like CRB is on a money making scheme to the max. UNFAIR AND WRONG.Accu Radio
james barnes35127-174001It helps tremendously. A capitalist society allows us greater choices. To stop this particular type of choice sickens me. ***DENY ME MY CHOICE AND YOUR RECORD/CD LABEL WILL SUFFER ECONOMICALLY*** I WILL ABANDON ALL AND HELL WILL FREEZE OVER BEFORE I WILL EVER BUY/DOWNLOAD ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS! STOPPING THIS WILL HELP TO BURY....I SAY AGAIN, BURY THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. REMEMBER THE BASEBALL STRIKE? I HAVEN'T SEEN THE FIRST MLB GAME SINCE!this gives a wonderful chance to sample and "test drive" a product before using it.
James R. Laidlaw0887601By providing outlets for many, many non-commercial artists, Internet radio performs a vital service and provides funding for artists who are never heard on the large corporately owned broadcast stations. This is just another example of the disregard both American businesses and, it appears, the government holds for the American public. The listener sponsored Internet radio stations perform a vital service for both the creators of music and those whose lives are enriched by this music. Do not let these diverse and necessary channels be silenced.Radio Paradise Legato Cafe Various classical stations WXPN (streaming service from the University of Pennsylvania radio station)
Maureen Kelley0170101Helps, certainly. It is the only way to "try out" different artists and genres before purchasing. The entertainment industry is one of very few retail entiities that make all purchases "final sale."While the internet radio stations may be "free", we all do pay an internet providor to access the service. Will we all need cable radio? Does everything need to be out of the reach of regular people? The listening of these stations really consitute one big advertisement for the record artists and labels.Accuradio
