Josh Tilson | 30238 | 01 | I believe the internet radio helps the music industry. I have bought cds that I would have never known existed if it wasnt for internet radio. I think it really helps spread the fame of artist. | |
Anonymous | 30265 | 01 | It Does not hurt, When does any one have time to listen to the radio any more Internet radio is way to go, On my Laptop @ the airport etc | | Fm 181.1 Old school 80s !!!
Craig Theunissen | 48858 | 02 | Helps. Internet radio is harder to rip than standard radio. Radio is radio. Why should it be different because it is online? | |
Anonymous | 61739 | | I don't see how it can hurt the music industry, however it can hurt radio sales. | | we play anything
Manuel Picado | | 01 | it helps the music, free publicity!!! | | a lot

Anonymous | 21740 | 01 | I think it helps. I have found a broader range of music because of the diversity that internet radio offers. | |
Steven T. Walling | 70810 | 01 | I believe it helps the industry as a whole, due to the fact that you can sample more and different kinds of music. Furthermore internet radio alows me to find the artists info more quickly, resulting in me buying an album faster. ( you don't how many times i've heard a song on normal radio, wondered who it was so I could get the album, but was never able to find out until sometimes years later, and often never at all) | |
monica | 60103 | 02 | helps - i can hear the radio all day at work and it prompts me to purchase more music becuase of it | | 99.9 - 101.9
Anonymous | 55107 | 02 | The online radio servers provide exposure to so much new music and new artists that would never ever be heard on the narrow and limited corporate FM radio station playlists. | | !! Panora !! ...of course.

Anonymous | 08055 | 02 | Internet radio absolutely helps the music industry by broadly increasing overall exposure while providing a cost-effective vehicle for new artists to establish themselves. | |
| 65471 | mt conway | 19342 | 02 | Definitely helps. It is a great way for new artists to get out.
I enjoy political talk radio and with the internet it allows for view points from a larger, infinite, geographical area. | | |
Andrew Tyler | 06040 | 01 | I think Internet radio helps the music industry immensely. In my opinion, the standard radio broadcasters play such a limited selection of music that they prevent true music lovers like myself from hearing new music that they might love and buy. Top 10 does not do anything for me. | | Radioio.com
Timothy Knoebel Sr | 22630 | 02 | Helps, because I listen more often. I usually just listen to the radio commuting to/from work and now I can listen to my local station at work. | | WZRV-FM
John Gammon | 20895 | 02 | Helps. It allows a larger forum for diverse programming / alternative programming / world music as well as helps bring back old favorites to mind. The memory factor surely helps drive sales of cds that my fellow baby boomers and I originally bought as lps back in that era. | |
Kathleen Owen | 32117 | 01 | I think it helps. Let's face it, diversity in traditional radio stations is pretty much non-existent, hence the popularity of internet radio. It allows for people to hear a broader range of music, therefore someone who might have never heard an artist on traditional radio is introduced to "New or Not widely played Artist" and loves their sound so they go out and buy a CD by them. | |
John Riehl | 91040 | 01 | The online music industry definitely helps. You get exposure to much more varied music, | I will not purchase music without hearing it. I have not purchased any music in the last 10 years that I have not heard online FIRST!. With two exceptions, none of the music that I have purchased have made it to locally available (broadcast) radio. The rates that have been proposed are shutting down online radio stations. Three out of four of the radio stations to which I have listened have shut down pending legislation. That is zero revenue, instead of a fair amount. | kfog.com (San Francisco, San Jose). However, because of pending actions, three other radio stations are gone. Not only will this generate less revenue (0 instead of the unfair rates mentioned), but it makes me less likely to purchase music. I will not buy any music that I have not heard.
Marlin Borsick | 44254 | 01 | Definitely helps the music industry | Clearly an issue driven by greed. Perhaps we need to vote with our pocketbooks and not buy music at all. That is where I am going. |

Jordan Klass | 97383 | 02 | Internet radio helps the music industry because it exposes more people to more types of music for free. We listeners can then go purchase the particular artist if we choose since the radio won't always be playing exactly what we want to hear. However, why buy music if we can get it for free? When you buy the music, you listen to exactly what you want. When you listen to the radio (online or not), you listen to what the DJ chooses to play (however, we listeners choose the station). | | 1.house.fm

James | 13833 | 01 | It helps the music industry for the fact that it plays differant music compared to local statinons that only play certaion "pop" hits. Those of which I dont care to buy because I already get to hear all thier good songs. With internet radio, we can listed to differant Variety's that they would never play on local radio. It helps promote the "little people" that dont have the ability to get thier music played over the big names. | I dont even listen to local radio anymore because of the same music being played everytime I turn it on. | Keiichi, Techno4ever, Technobase, Japan-A-Radio,

Daniela Teodorescu | 48858 | 01 | I believe it helps the music industry. A station like Pandora helps you discover artists that you never knew existed, and realize you like them. People are more likely to buy when their interest is kept alive by a radio. A radio is a pleasant form of advertising. | | Pandora (on the internet).

Anonymous | 28310 | 01 | Internet radio has introduced me to many obscure bands that don't get any regular radio time. I've bought 16 cd's from bands that i've been introduced to this way. | |
