I have already written down a few CD I want to pick up and haven't because I wasn't sure who the artist was or which CD it was on. So I feel that one of the perks of having the internet stream you can also pull other info of what is playing to help the consumer find exactly what they want.The other great thing about internet radio is you can choose the genres to fit your work environment or ones own personal mood. With more of a variety of music. Not just a loop of music the radio stations play and make you sick of the same songs.

With internet radio, we can listen to music of different types or languages than we can just with regular radio. A lot of us really like listening to Japanese radio, for instance, and it helps me pick which albums to buy or import. I don't really think it could hurt the industry more than regular radio, because it's not like we /have/ the songs by listening to it.It's completely unfair to impose these royalties on internet radio - it would close down a lot of stations that many of us listen to in order to expand our music interests, limiting us to only popular music that we won't necessarily buy because we hear it all the time on regular radio. It would be bad for the individual and the industry.All J-Pop/Rock stations.

It helps to promote the music and the artists, unlike downloadable files, which does NOT usually help promote purchases. For one thing, the quality of online radios are usually noticeably lower than the CD's or mp3's, even to casual listeners. Plus, the songs one may like may not get played often, hence the initiative to buy and own the songs for increased listening.
