In many areas, the regular radio stations can be limited in what genre is played and the internet has allowed many musicians to reach a broader spectrum of listeners and fans. As for the listeners perspecitive, I've noticed sometimes when traveling that my car radio searches and searches for the type of music I listen to and if I were to live in some of the areas that seem to not have a single station that plays the music I like, it's good to know that I can still keep current via the internet. Internet radio is also the only source I have at work to listen to music, our building does not allow a regular radio to get any reception.
