Anonymous6061001Internet radio benefits the music industry immensely. My music purchases are up 100% as a result. I can now hear an entire song, decide if I like it, and have the artist info I need to purchase the song/video on iTunes. While I'm at home I use internet radio to sample lots of music and purchase. Internet radio gives me music exposure to radio stations around the world. I have a lot more knowledge of what music is out there for me to purchase.C89.5 Seattle, 93.1 Miami, 99.9 Chicago

Sharon Gist9536101I had not heard of many artists until I started listening to the internet with stations all over the world..my regular radio is limited..I like listening to health shows that don't air over the regular airwaves..
Brian Medcalf4767001The existence of internet radio helps artists reach audiences they would not have reached before. Traditional commercial radio would not survive playing the formats available on the internet or on satellite radio because it is driven by ratings and revenue.Charging outrageous royalties to these stations would be like going back to before the internet existed. Before I heard of this ridiculous idea, I felt that existing broadcast stations that did not stream their station over the net as well were BEHIND THE TIMES! Existing terrestrial and satellite radio stations already pay royalties to the artists they play, and definitely should NOT be charged extra just because they have an internet stream! It's as if the industry I deperately would like to work in has turned into the tax man. It seems like a conspiracy to collect from these people and persecute them as if the industry were evil, greedy capitalists and these internet stations are the peasants that must work to death and hand over all their money to the tax man. There are many stations I would love to see eventually streaming over the internet, but if this STUPID idea becomes a law, that will never happen! Rest assured, anyone who votes for this bill WILL NOT EVER GET MY VOTE!!!www.club977.com www.ultimate80s.com the original Hot 97 New York These terrestrial station streams: Q102 WIOQ Philadelphia Wired 96.5 WRDW Philadelphia 100.3 The Beat WPHI Philadelphia Channel 955 WKQI Detroit Hot 102.7 WHTD Detroit 89X CIMX Windsor, ON Z107-7 KSLZ St. Louis 105.7 The Point KPNT St. Louis Hot 99.5 WIHT Washington, DC DC101 WWDC Washington, DC 102.7 KIIS FM Los Angeles 106.7 KROQ Los Angeles B96 WBBM FM Chicago 103.5 Kiss FM WKSC Chicago Nine FM 99.9 Chicago 103.7 Kiss FM WXSS Milwaukee 102.1 WLUM Milwaukee Power 96 WPOW Miami Y100 WHYI Miami 93 Rock WHDR Miami Wild 98.7 WLLD Tampa 93-3 FLZ Tampa 101 JRR Orlando XL 106.7 WXXL Orlando Hot 107.9 WHTA Atlanta 99X WNNX Atlanta Project 961 WKLS Atlanta Hot 107.1 KXHT Memphis Snap 94.1 WSNA Memphis 93X WMFS Memphis K97 WHRK Memphis Wild 94.9 KYLD San Francisco 106 KMEL San Francisco Live 105 KITS San Francisco Energy 92.7 San Francisco Live 105.3 KLLI Dallas MOViN 107.5 KMVK Dallas 97.9 The Beat KBFB Dallas 94.5 The Buzz KTBZ Houston 97.9 The Box KBXX Houston 104.9 The Party Houston 101X KROX Austin 91X San Diego 94.9 San Diego Blazin 98.9 San Diego Z90 San Diego 104.3 Hit FM XHTO El Paso Power 102 KPRR El Paso 107-7 The End Seattle KS 107.5 KQKS Denver 106.7 KBPI Denver 97 ZHT Salt Lake City U92 KUUU Salt Lake City X107.5 KXTE Las Vegas Area 108 KVGS Las Vegas Hot 97.5 KVEG Las Vegas 106.1 Kiss FM WDKS Evansville 96.1 Kiss FM WKST Pittsburgh Channel 963 KZCH Wichita KJ 103 KJYO Oklahoma City 94.7 The Buzz Oklahoma City 100.5 The Kat KATT Oklahoma City 98.5 The Beat KBBT San Antonio B97 WEZB New Orleans Z104 WNVZ Norfolk 101 KUFO Portland, OR Z100 KKRZ Portland, OR 104.7 KZZP Phoenix Power 98.3 KKFR Phoenix X107.1 Cayman Islands 96.5 Cay Rock Cayman Islands Spin 94.9 somewhere in the Carribbean Isle 95 St. Croix 100.3 Jamz Nassau, the Bahamas Hot 104 Cayman Islands

Mary Psomadakis1178701It helps. Internet radio provides free marketing to the recording industry by providing exposure to new (and old) artists who can't be heard on regular radio stations. People who get to hear these artists and who like what they hear will buy their records/songs.The variety of different types of music, news and entertainment on internet radio far exceeds what is offered by regular and satellite radio and is more easily accessible for many people. I can't afford satellite radio but I do have a computer, so I can listen to music from all over the world and have bought cds as a result of hearing the music on my computer from an internet radio station. I don't listen to regular radio anymore for music because most radio stations have a very limited playlist - only the most popular artists/songs in a particular genre get played. You're not likely to hear any of the newer artists at all until AFTER they're lucky enough to get a big hit.KUOW, WBAI
Dylan DavenportV1Y 2S7 Canada01Definitly helps, I have purchasted numerous albums that would have been lost in obscurity forever if not for internet radio and DJ's pure love for music. Which is what it's about for artist and listener, not money. DDTTR thanks Beth.
