Rik Styles5910202It definitely helps by exposing music to the masses that wouldn't be played over the regular air waves. The music industry is to be blamed for hurting themselves not the consumer. If they would release quality music at a decent price and not over priced filler music, then things would be different. But until then, let them suffer the consequences of over saturation of "garbage" masquarading as music!
Cassidy Brookins9764101helps,it allows people to find music they like before they buy the cd.People are going to buy music they like and where else is better to browse good music than internet radiokeiichi animeacadamyradio animenfo live365 stations
Chris6045201Helps, because artists gain popularity and then people will whant to download their songs. The radio on the internet allows our troops in Iraq to listen to what is going on at home. They can here the new songs and it helps them pass the time in the war zone.99.9 FM
Stefan FlößelGermany 0168301Internet Radio helps me a lot to get in touch with new music. I'm listening to a lot of american online radio stations, because they got the very new stuff of music, as soon as a song gets to the german marked that i like i buy it. And I also import songs that won't get to the german marked. Internet Radio helps me to stay up to date on my favorite music.www.party107.com
Anonymous3231203Helps it.I think that you should let internet radio stay just like it is. It does not hurt the music industry it helps it.Club 977 Ultimate 80's
rick torres6056502helps the industry.
Rebecca Lambrecht6009102it helps, it provides an up to date and easy way to access the radio without the need of radio capable cd player. that way it can promote music of artists and reach audiences in a simple way, ultimately inspiring people to purchase songs.
Michael Nameche60618-522001It most definitely helps. If the only music people were exposed to came through traditional airwave radio there would be large expanses of the country without access to religious music, children's music, modern composers, and a million other niche styles and genres that may not pull in big numbers but are worthy of support. Internet radio definitely spurs sales of cds for me and my large circle of friends - with more exposure to choices consumers tend to become more adventurous in their purchasing. The dissolution of internet radio as we now know it would be a huge disservice to listeners and musicians alike. The titans of the music industry do not want musicians to be able to promote and distribute their music inexpensively on the web. Why? The internet form of promotion and distribution is good for the economy (more self-sustaining musicians), the environment (less waste - fuel, paper, plastic), and the arts (greater range of ideas available)

Holly J Fowler6270301Radio being played on the internet allows us at work to have it playing from our computer and easily controlled and accessable in the work envrionment. If I get a call, I dont have to move, I just hit mute on my keyboard and if I lost my music at work I think we might lose productivity,Internet radio doesn't hurt anyone, if anything it helps not only the radios, but the artists and down the chain form there!9FM We play Anything!

Tony Serio6007001helps because you hear songs at times you wouldn't normally be able to - such as at work - I work in dowtown Chicago and sometimes in the office bldgs it's hard to get over-the-air radio reception so many people listen to internet radioweplayanything.com - 9 FM

BJ White9206401I think it helps to have radio streaming because people can listen to the radio at work, and for those of us who like the independent nature of some stations, we can listen to them no matter where we are in the world rather than be stuck with limited (or no) choices.94.9 FM in San Diego

Robert S. Travis6095002helps -- I listen to the radio much more often, as I have broadband, but my regular radio only gets a few stations. Without Internet radio, I probably wouldn't listen to radio at all, except in my car.B93 (Grand Rapids, MI) WCCQ (South Suburban Chicago, IL) 9FM (weplayanything.com Chicago, IL)
chris mclean7520602i believe it helps it - what record companies dont understand is that consumers want to SUPPORT the ARTISTS but not the industry that constantly plagues the community with this crap. WE are the ones that made them rich - they can give back a little or alot.
Michael Brown08873-234701I think it HELPS the music industry much like AM/FM radio has been doing for the past 50 years ors more. The more "exposure" listeners have to new music, the more they will purchase. That's a proven fact!WBGO, CD101.9
Anonymous8150301Yes, if it wasn't for internet radio, I couldn't listen to the radio.
Jessica D'Amico6050201Helps, provides a channel for consumers to become better acquainted with artists and their work -- provides incentive to purchase songs if more songs are made available to consumers through regular programming9 FM (99.9FM Chicago), 103.5FM (KissFM Chicago), 91.5 (WBEZ Chicago Public Radio)

Jessica7592501I think it helps. With the help of internet radio I have been able to learn of many different artists. Many of my favorite singers and songs came from listening to online radios, which have gotten me to go out and buy the cd's. So yeah..it helps in my opinion.Keiichi Radio!!
Sebastian Smith-Dion8410202It does neither they will wind up with probibly the same amount of money. As people who did not buy the actual CD's will proceed to buy the same amount on the web and radio.it is hard to find an anime radio station, almost anywhere, ever... so i'd apriciate it if i could keep listening to this...radio.keiichi.net/
PETER WIELANDkt4 7ah UK02I do believe that internet radio does no harm and that it brings to the listener music that would probably not have been listened to in the normal media mode I do not belive that it hurts the music industry in any way.smokin oldies

Anonymous4411801I feel it helps to expose myself and others to music that is not considered mainstream in this country.WCSB, WJCU, & WRUW
Lisa0793202
Anonymous01I belive it has helped the music industry and its artists because their music is heard more often and by more listeners which can benefit both the artists and the listeners. The public can get information about concerts and just enjoy the music if anything. The artists of the music industry can make their fan base grow and it could also help them sell more albums.99.9 FM Chicago 97.1 FM The Drive Chicago
Kevin Kim9682601I think Internet Radio helps expand the music I hear. Many Cities have limited airwaves and few good stations, BUT with Internet radio I can search for my favorite music anywhere I have a connection.I live in a State without satalite radio so my radio station selections are few to nill.I love the super70's. They play an excellent music list. They make my work day feel great. It makes me look for the songs at my local vinyl recycle shop..
Stas02Definetly doesn't hurt9fm
Ignaty Charry30146Yes - I have purchased CDs by artists I would not have heard of outside of net radio
Geoffrey cowles4305002IR helps the industry by helping me to discover and become interested in many new genres. I have bought R and B, Irish, and Old Time Radio albums that I never heard of before. This is a great way to test market many old video/audio that was once considered too rough to market. My tastes in listening has become broader. Logically, I have a wider number of things that I will potenmtially buy. Internet Radio has given me more reasons to buy CDs and DVDs.You Tube, OTR Now.

D.H.
