| 63052 | Kevin Smith | 60451 | 01 | It helps it, it lets consumers listen to the radio stations outside their normal ranges, so more people hear both the advertisements as well as the music.
It could be argued that it would lead to more illegal music downloads, but this arguement is negated by the fact that most illegal music downloads are batch downloads by artist or genre, while legally purchased music is done mostly by single track familiarity.
So, a consumer is not at all familiar with a song will illegally download it, while a person who aquires music through legal means has no way to familiarize themselves with the music they may be interested in buying.
I speak mainly of Dance music, 99.9 FM in the chicago area is the only station I have ever heard that plays dance music, but I cannot listen to it on the radio while I am at school. I can only hear it with the online stream. I personally have bought 3-4 CD's and 1 .mp3 based solely on tracks and artists I have heard on the radio. I seriously doubt that I would have been exposed to the music otherwise.
In short, internet streams help the music industry, and does not promote illegal downloading or recording any more than standard broadcasting | you can cut that bit up if you want to submit it or use it as evidence, I put in as much as I could. Keep the streams alive! | 99.9 (Dance Factory) |

| 63074 | John Morgan | 60503 | 02 | Helps the music industry - alot of people can not receive a great radio signal at their office to listen to their favorite stations. | | |
| 63075 | Jennifer Anderson | 84093 | 01 | Internet radio helps the music industry because when I hear songs I like (many of which FM radio does'nt play - whether the song is new or old), I can identify (because its on the computer screen) the artist who does the song, and know what to buy if I want to own it. FM radio rarely announces the artist. I perfer to listen to internet radio because for a long time I've known songs I like, but not known who does them.(You can't purchase a cd of a song you like without knowing who the artist is.) Also internet radio is AWESOME because they don't have a million ANNOYING commercials. I don't listen to FM radio anymore because of the commercials. Its either internet or satellite radio. | | 1 Club FM (urban channels) |
