| 155 | jason | straut | PA | US | I've lived in this area for most of my life, but have only discovered this beautiful little spot a small number of years ago. It would be a terrible shame to lose it now. |
| 156 | Michael | Greeley | PA | US | I would like to hear more about the pros and cons of saving the dam. I like the creek the way it is right now. The downstream area where the other dam was removed looks terrible. Is there any evidence that removing this dam will reduce flooding or increase safety? It seems more logic to defer this decision until more evidence is presented as it is easier to destroy the dam than to rebuild it. |

| 164 | Marilynn | Boyd | VA | US | I grew up on the Perky & learned to swim there. The dam was a favorite spot for my friends & I. What a shame it would be to lose another piece of history to "development concerns". Wonderful website!!! |

| 180 | kathleen | philips | NJ | US | It is sinful to distory/waste the
waters we now have there.
We come from out of state to enjoy this area |
| 181 | Joan | Fornwald | PA | US | |
| 182 | Patricia | Williams | NJ | US | We need to keep more spaces for recreation and wildlife preservation in this country. How will we feel when we have to describe a piece of heaven to someone who would never have a chance to experience the peacefulness of a wooded area or a marsh or an open field or a lake? |
| 183 | Dawn | Gannon | PA | US | Please, please don't take this creek from us!Why even spend money for projects like Hoy Park? |
| 184 | william | watts | PA | US | my daughter and I have had some great times, fishing in that stretch of water, above the dam. |
| 185 | kimberly | hensley | PA | US | My sons and I have had very special and memorable times dipping our feet in the water by the dam while watching the wildlife come out with no fear of destruction. |
| 186 | Kate | Regula | | | I find serenity by the waters of Lower Perkiomen Park in Oaks. Don't take that away from us or our children. Thank you. |
| 187 | Frank | Bellocchio | PA | US | Please save the dam watershed. I have lots of fun with family and friends in and around these waters. |

| 191 | Caroline | Martin | PA | US | My husband and I recently moved back to the house he grew up in (44 years ago). Back in January 2003, soon after his mother passed away, there was a fire at the house. We were here at the time the fire started and literally woke up on fire. We got out safely and the fire department was able to save the house. Being that there are no fire hydrants in the area where we live, we are thankful that the dam was there. Our house is about 100 feet from the Perkiomen Creek (North of the dam) and outside of safety issues, the dam allows for a rich environment. We have all sorts of wildlife and plantlife here as a result including songbirds of all sorts, waterbirds including blue herons, racoons, groundhogs, possoms, deer and more. The area in which we live is a protected wetlands. If the dam were to be removed and the creek to go down, who knows what the environmental impact would be. Also, our home (and many of the homes around us) get water from private wells. Again, we are greatly concerned about the impact removing the dam would have. Finally, my husband has fond memories of playing near the creek as a child. We enjoy hiking greatly and regularly hike to the dam. The Perkiomen Trail wouldn't be the same if the dam were to be removed.
