Name: John Harrison on Aug 3, 2011Comments: Ifeal is one the most original and funniest shows that has been on television in the past two decades and should be re-commissioned. The BBC is world reknowned for creating excellent programmes therefore it shouldn't lower it's standards by scrapping Ideal and putting another 'cheaply made','dumbed down' reality show in its place. Wake up Beeb and realise that you have a hit show on your hands.Flag

Name: Dylan Owen on Aug 3, 2011Comments: DO NOT WATCH THE BBC UNTIL OUR DEMANDS ARE MET! BRING BACK IDEAL! _______ Quote from Graham Duff "Hi, As some of you may have heard, the BBC have decided against commissioning an 8th series of Ideal. The reason given was that the new channel controller wanted to make a clean sweep. It is a source of both pride and frustration that, at the point of cancellation, Ideal was attracting its biggest ever audiences, its highest profile guest stars and its best ever reviews. And the show is now being screened in more countries than ever before - from America to Finland and beyond. I just want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has appeared in the show and worked behind the scenes over the last 7 years and 53 episodes. And a very special thanks to everyone who has supported the show and spread the word. We really wouldn't have got this far without you. It's been a truly wonderful journey and to work with such a genuinely amazing team has been both an honour and a solid hoot. Best wishes Graham xxx" PLEASE HELP US BRING BACK IDEAL BY JOINING THE PETITION AND VARIOUS SAVE IDEAL GROUPS ON FACEBOOK. GET EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO LOVES IDEAL AND WANTS IT BACK ON OUR SCREENS AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. I AM ASKING YOU TO SHOW YOUR PRIDE AND FAITH IN IDEAL BY HELPING GRAHAM DUFF GET HIS BABY BACK ON THE AIR!! DYLAN OWEN.Flag

Name: Brett Lampitt on Aug 3, 2011Comments: The decision-makers at the BBC seem to misunderstand what works and what doesn't. I would have thought after the 6Music debacle that their numbers would have been bolstered by a few more people with a grip on the zeitgeist rather than a clinical accountant's view of things. Instead, quality is sacrificed in the name of 'popularity', economy and the security of the bland and familiar. Remember, BBC, that we don't all adore The Apprentice, Dragons' Den, Strictly Come Whatever.Flag

Name: Richard Witts on Aug 3, 2011Comments: I think that Ideal is a highly original programme. It's certainly funny and entertaining but it's also richer and deeper in its themes and narratives than an other contemporary British comedy that I've seen on any channel. For that alone, it has created its distinctive place in the schedules. in any case, it was so detailed in its plotting that, to drop it now, would be to leave it unfinished.Flag

Ideal has delivered on ratings, on creativity, on DVD sales. Don't shit your own doorstep for the sake of a 'Clean sweep'.Flag

Name: Richard S Flint on Aug 3, 2011Comments: Ideal has been a credit to the writing talent and character of Graham Duff and all it's stars and guests. BBC3's credibility has been salvaged by supporting such daring and insightful British comedy when it's common roster is a chain of lurid pap and imported hits. The growth in viewing punters Ideal has attracted has developed as all great comedy shows do, from word of mouth. And if it is to be consigned to the Classic British Comedy recycling bin it's enduring success will no doubt out live this shortsighted decision and your collective careers. And if not, perhaps you'll get a visit from Psycho Paul equipped with a toffee hammer and a knitting needle.Flag

Name: Kevin Gallagher on Aug 3, 2011Comments: Ideal is one of the most consistently funny and interesting shows on tv for many years. In terms of visuals, music, acting and funny, it is at the top. Given the competition from some many different media sources (online, digi boxes, dvds etc etc), it seems shortsighted to discontinue one of the best reasons for watching BBC. Please reconsider your decision as ideal is one of the few remaining reasons I have for watching the BBCFlag

Name: Graham LEWIS on Aug 3, 2011Comments: This is going to be seen as another example of short sighted and blighted BBC non-commissioning. Give us No.8 the remaining series! Otherwise we're sending CH and PP 'round! This is a no IDEAL threat!Flag

Name: Bel Vaz on Aug 3, 2011Comments: The end of Cartoon Head deserves a better finish with a question mark. The BBC can cancel Newsnight if it want's a clean sweep as it's reporting has now become increasingly biased toward the Rotten Party of Gordon Brown. Alternatively cancel the License Fee & let the market decide what it want's to see.Flag
