Gene Sklar | Intervale Compost Products is an essential component of a nationally acclaimed model for agricultural sustainability and its educational programs provide a unique opportunity for the next generation of Vermonter's to experience and understand the value of composting to our lives and environment.

Joy McGarvey | Surely there must be a way to keep open this very valuable service to our community that enhances the health of our earth.
Naomi Galimidi | The Intervale processes tons of organic waste that would normally end up in the land fill where it will take up space and never decompose. They have proven themselves to be within solid waste regulations which is most of the Act 250 requirement. This is a crucial service to our community.
DEBORAH BOUTON | The operation in the Intervale is a valuable contribution to our environment and our economy!

Lisa Allard | Closing this site will be a open invitation to dump in unauthorized places and will discourage people from keeping up their property because they will have to pay to dump. Why are they trying to make it so hard to be environmentally concious?

Angela Duquette | Keep composting!!!
Chuck Catlett | I can't believe that somebody would want to shut down such a resourceful, community enterprise. The intervale composting center has been written up in the book "Garbageland".

Judy Kelly | At a time when the wisdom of current agriculture indicates that we should be using fewer chemicals and more practices that build sustainability in our soils, it is surprising to me that the Legislature is even CONSIDERING closing down the Intervale Composting project. Having been a user of these products since the inception of the project I would be at a loss to find as efficient a source of compost as I find at the intervale. The impact on the environment cannot be as bad as all the chemicals traditionally used in agriculture or, for that matter, in general urban gardening and that includes lawns. I strongly vote to keep the Intervale Compost project going.

Kate McEachern | This program is vitual to our community's social responsibility - please keep it operating. Work together and not against one another for a solution rather then rubber stamping the process.
Jessica Heman | It seems absurd to me that the compost company not be classified as an agricultural endeavor. i think it is time to think more holistically and recognize the important service that Intervale Compost Products offers to Burlington and ti our ecosystems. It is also important to remember that before the Intervale Center was founded, that land was a quite literally a dumping ground for trash. This is a very unique company and should be treated as such.

Julie Slater | My friend just let me know about this amazing model of sustainability!! I wish it existed in my city (Denver). I hope everything can be done to ensure this model not only continues, but is able to grow and remain a great example which other cities and counties can emulate!! Please support the continuation of Intervale Compost Products!!

| 592 | Gerald Viens | I am disgusted that the Douglas administration has been letting off polluters but is going out of its way to shut down an organization that is working on the problem. Who will they attack next, recycling centers?
I changed party over the republican anti-environment agenda. This action has shown me how right I was. |
