| 952 | Chris Newes | How could the City Council allow a landmark that has been (and continues to be) so influential on changing the face of music to be tainted with the nearby addition of a condo project? |

| 962 | Gary Boatner | 37 years experience as a recording engineer and sound technician. Don't allow these beautiful echo chambers become past history. The musical history of these chambers must be seen to realize the magical musical history that is not only the past but the future in music history. The unique sound of these chambers can never be duplicated.
Thank You |

| 964 | Sherri Tantleff | To compromise the integrity of Capitol Studios is to destroy a valuable piece of the recording industry's history and future. There are countless condo development projects. There's only one Capitol Records! |
| 965 | george bunnell | anytime we have a a chance to stop such people from building hideous monstrosities that would obstruct the view of a California Landmark we should. Too much of our heritage, from the Chumash beginings to the glamour of Hollywood to the grand estates has been destroyed or covered over by speculators from other states and countries who could give a rats ass about preservation...here or anywhere! |
| 966 | Mike Wolf | This Hollywood icons function must be perserved
both visually and acoustically (re: the underground reverb chambers) |
| 967 | Josh Eddy | |
| 968 | Cole Coleman | I think any further development in the Hollywood area should always keep a thought the protect historical landmarks and functioning studios be they for audio or video. It would be tragic to be indifferent during new constructions that would result in impairing or ruining such a historic and functioning studio as Capitol Records. |
| 969 | Jonathan Merrill | Would we allow visual and sonic disturbance like this to ruin performances of the LA Opera? The LA Phil? The Hollywood Bowl? Clearly not. Please do not allow the same fate to befall THE most historically significant recording studio in the world. |
| 970 | Dr. Steven Hall | I cannot believe that this construction project is being seriously considered. It is IMPOSSIBLE to "control" the sounds outside this historic recording studio to the degree that is required for the high quality recordings -- no matter what construction modifications are incorporated into the design. |
| 971 | Timur Bekbosunov | I think, it is very important to protect our historical heritage! Please consider rejecting the permit. |
| 972 | Verne Langdon | PLEASE preserve the Capitol Records Recording Studios to their infinite degree; I still record there, and need the facility desperately. This is MY LIVELIHOOD these people are tinkering with! SAVE CAPITOL RECORDING STUDIOS!!! - Verne Langdon |
| 973 | Marilyn Baker | It's amazing that there would be anyone who would wish to jeopardize the legendary Capital Records studios. I have had many happy experiences playing for major artists there and hate to hear that these studios will not remain intact. |
| 974 | Alphonse Mouzon | I expressly urge you to save Hollywood's music industry and heritage by halting the current condo project at 6230 Yucca Avenue without fail. |
| 975 | Ilene Weingard | |
| 976 | Ellen Johnson | |
| 977 | Jeff Foster | LA has so little history left intact - please don't ruin yet another important landmark!!! |
| 978 | Curtis Bradley | |
| 979 | Jeffrey Weber | Folks, I have been recording at Capitol Studios for close to thirty years. It has become a haven for great music, great musicians, and a guardian of when music challenged our minds and nourished our souls. As we slowly strip away our heritage, one building at a time, might we pause a moment and consider at what cost comes "progress." Surely, we can put another condo another place. Anyplace. Just not near Capitol. The damage would be done to everyone who loves the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Nat King Cole, and on and on. Capitol represents our music, our life. For once, let's not sacrifice our heritage for the not so almighty dollar. Thank you. |
| 980 | David J. Holman | Do not destroy a hollywood icon! |
| 981 | Murat Ses | |
| 982 | Stefaniah McGowan | The words already written in the petition says it all...
Please allow the heritage and culture of one Hollywood's greatest landmarks continue to breath and not allow it to come to a untimely end. To me it is more than a landmark, it is one of the reasons I do want I do. I do not believe that you need to be a Producer or Engineer to understand the impact that this studio has made. As a music lover, just think of some of your favorite songs, artists, and musicians.
I can guarantee you that more than one has touched your life, the life of someone you know, and the lives of many others, including myself. Many of which Capitol was home, many of which a baby was born... (music, song, harmonies), memories were made. Think about the creative energy that will be lost, eternally...
Embrace what is.... a wonderful place to call home.
Respectfully,
Stefaniah McGowan

| 984 | James DiPasquale | As a composer who has recorded there many times, I must say that the importance of Capitol Records Recording Studios to American music, both past and present, cannot be overstated. To negatively impact the quality of Capitol's recorded product for the sake of another condo building is nothing short of criminal. |
| 985 | Anonymous | As a recording artist ( The Honeys) for Capitol Records for many years, anything remotely desicreating the well being of the Captiol Records Tower or adjacent property would not only impact the integrity of what the Tower and property stand for as one of the world's lengendary historical musical landmarks, but would distroy an american dream of the hopefuls as well as veteran artists and musicians that have worked so hard to bring the world such wonderful music. |
| 986 | Schpilkas | "!" |
| 987 | Kenny Rankin | It is hallowed ground.
A very special place where great music was and continues to be created. |
| 988 | Bruce Botnick | My father and mother were in the music business and prepared and played on many of the initial recordings at the Capitol Records studios. Over the years, my goal was always to record there. In the ensuing years of producing and engineering, I've had the great pleasure of working there and in some cases, renting the echo chambers, via equalized telephone lines, for many of my projects. Historically, it seems that tax and revenue issues take president over the arts and history. The city council has a chance here to preserve a truly historical monument in the history of recording music. I can't suggest enough how a positive vote against the developer will positively impact the future. We can't afford to loose another classic recording studio. This year we lost the Republic Pictures / ToddAo Music Scoring stage, now CBS in Studio City. Later this year we are going to loose the Paramount Pictures music stage. Seriously we're going to not only loose places to record, but through development, we're going to encourage recording out of Los Angeles, the state and out of the country, thereby depriving our very talented musicians, producers, artists and recording engineers their livelihood. Please vote against the developers, history and the legacy of recorded music is at stake.
I am available to speak to you if you wish.
Thank you, Bruce Botnick - Producer Engineer |
| 989 | Anonymous | They paved paradise and put up a parking lot. |
| 990 | Anonymous | Landmarks are all we have left of a once strong music industry! Don't destroy what we have! |
| 991 | Shelly Liebowitz | As a music industry executive and a concerned citizen, I implore you to consider the importance of the Capitol Tower and Capitol Studios to Los Angeles and the music industry. You MUST protect these landmarks. |
| 992 | MB Gordy | I am totally against the construction of this new building which will impact Capitol Studios.
Sincerely
MB Gordy |
| 993 | William Kolacek | I am a highly active "Live" sound engineer in Los Angeles and Orange County. We've already gotten rid of so many venues all across the country, it would be a shame to start losing more studios with them. |
| 994 | Anonymous | This petition says it well. |
| 995 | Rick Edgil | The Capitol Bldg is an historic landmark, and must be treated with the respect it has earned over the decades. |
| 996 | Chris Bell | |
| 997 | Evie Sands | |
| 998 | Fernando Gelbard | Dear Councilman Garcetti and Los Angeles City Planning Commissioners,
I the undersigned urge you to save Hollywood's music industry and heritage by halting the current condo project at 6230 Yucca. The current project as designed would have a severely detrimental effect on the operations of the renowned Les Paul designed echo chambers, which continue to bring the best recording artists and musicians to Hollywood from around the world. The project's size and height would also block views to the Capitol Records Tower, one of Hollywood's greatest landmarks. So please put the heritage and culture of Hollywood's community above the interests of a few and stop this project before its too late! |
