Clifford Coleman | This game is more than likely responsible for the love of the game being passed from thousands of parents to thousands of children every year. It was my first experience with live baseball and my fondest memory of my favorite pastime. To cancel this game is to deny a lasting memory from countless would-be baseball fans. This is a mistake and I pray this isn't truly the end of our beloved Hall of Fame Game.
Jamie Bordley | I grew up in cooperstown and this was the 1st, 2nd ,3rd, etc baseball game I went to as a kid. It holds a big place in my heart. Make it an official game too! It could be a special game.
CAROL COOPER | IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN TO DOUBLEDAY FIELD TO SEE A BALL GAME YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT UNIQUE AND INTIMATE EXPERIENCE THIS PARK OFFERS TO BASBALL LOVERS.

Steven Webb | You CANT take away the HOF Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve Wrzesien | The more young players visit the HOF, the better they will play. Then maybe one day they'll see their own plaque! The only way to get the players to Cooperstown is to play the Hall of Fame Game!
Michael Cook | I have great memories of the HoF game I went to. Got a signature from Jim Abbott, my favorite player of all time, and got a good laugh from Rex Hudler outside of the bathroom ("You don't wanna shake my hand, I didn't wash 'em").
Anonymous | Save the game...Tradition has been disappearing around the country...

Doug MacGregor | If they claim for this to be a scheduling problem, then why can't they schedule this on the Saturday before the season starts. After all, they made this happen for the Civil Rights game.
Chris Fiori | In times of rising baseball salaries, players who don't seem to care about the fans, and the cost to attend a game being too prohibitive for most families, please don't take this tradition away. As a kid growing up in upstate NY, I attended at least 8 of these games, with my father, brothers and grandfather. Seeing greats like Cal Ripken Jr., Willie Stargell hit a home run in his only at bat, Rod Carew and Dave Winfield (I even went to the game as an adult with my father the year Dave and Kirby Puckett were inducted), are memories I will never forget. Maybe a little travel inconvenience for today's players is a good thing. Bring them back to the roots of baseball, memories of their minor league days, and how much their "48 hr sacrifice" will create a lifetime of memories for the fans who support them.
Bill Bennett | Please !
Anonymous | They can go to Japan but not to Cooperstown. How sad for our country.
chris | please keep it going!
Alison Pinsler |
debbie Langenfelder | How can you cancel a tradition that started in 1939? Baseball is a constant in so many lives. Cooperstown exemplifies a town and tradition that can't be found anywhere. Why break it? You are breaking hearts of youngsters that aren't even able to know you are yet.
Charles Crooks | Please continue the Hall of Fame Game. I haven't visited Cooperstown yet, but plan to soon. Not everything needs to be mega-commercial with 50,000 seat stadiums. Revere tradition !!
David Camadine | This tradition is a part of the fabric of Baseball. I can't imagine not having the Hall of Fame game played in Cooperstown on the hallowed grounds of Doubleday Field.
Zach Saia | why cant we save one of the last parts of baseballl history thats left?
Charles Caruso | Keep th baseball tradition and not make decision based on dollars.
STEPHEN RYAN | Please keep the Hall of Fame game and get rid of some regular season games .
Franklyn Caruso | Apparently MLB and the Players Association don't make enough money on the HOF Game.
| 488 | Dave Visbeck | Lets ... PLAY BALL!
I hope and wish the tradition continues on. |
Vincent Miscione | Save the Hall of Fame Game !
