2314 Chad RiderI have had this same situation happen to me and my friends at (2) different locations. As a result, many of us ended up stopping riding as there was nowhere to ride anymore. Many of those people then got into drugs and alcohol themselves as they had nothing else to do. So, I fully support keeping the site open because it does give kids and adults an outlet for their energies and a place to hang with positive energy. I hope it all works out. Good Luck

2324 Jamie MoylanThis place is legendary....kids watch people ride, dreaming about the day they get old enough to ride there. Friendly environment too. I've NEVER had a problem watching, or riding there. It's a place where magazine shoots can go on while you ride, and kids get to meet their hero's....please do not tear down hidden valley.....

2345 doug snellive never been there but it sounds like a good place to ride.
2346 Dale RevesThat sucks. Maybe you guys could come up with some sort of public event at the trails that would highlight not only your plight, but the truth behind dirt jumping. Invite the local govt, other community leaders...get people on your side from outside the scene to help educate the dumb. You probably already have. We're pulling for you guys.

2350 John BlanckHey Carter , we met at John Cowans Jump Jam . I would love to assist in any way . I am tired of my taxpayer money going towards parks that I, as a biker cannot use . Seems to me it is a civil rights issue of sorts . I pay for the skatepark to be built but I cannot use it . So where is our terrain park ? As i understand , the problem is in the wording of the laws that govern the use of skateparks . You know , the sign that is posted at each park stating that you assume all liability when you skate here . Because bikes are not included in the wording , there is potential for the City to be liable . Anyone can sue if they are injured somewhere , regardless of any signs or liability waivers . Also , Cities assume some liability when they supervise useage . They would be better off to leave all parks unsupervised just as basketball and tennis courts are . I have been dealing with useage issues in my area of Oceanside and Vista . With regard to dirtjumps , there is no reason that City planners could not incorporate designated areas into parks and other open areas . Not every kid or kid at heart plays baseball , football , or basketball . Some want to ride thier bikes , but cannot because they are not allowed to ride on sidewalks , use the skatepark that the parents taxes paid for , or build and jump in an open field . I could go on and on . Count me in as a supporter of the Hidden Valley trails . Bikes were around long before skateboards and now that skateboarding is so mainstream and widely accepted , the powers that be need to inculde us bike riders . Where is our place to go ? I would be happy to be a part of a civil suit . If i cant use the skatepark then they had better build a place for me and every other biker to use . tell Shawn McKinney I said hi .
