I'd recommend getting as many riders and supporters together as humanly possible and going to Huntington Beach City Council as soon as possible. Have a few of the older, well spoken guys and girls speak to the council. Let them know how many people are attending the meeting to keep the jumps from being plowed. Remind the council how well Sheep Hills is working out and tell them why Hidden Valley should be given the same type of deal. I think that's your only hope. Now is the time to make sure this great ride spot remains open and well maintained. Mountain bikers do a good job of patrolling the trails they ride. They should be rewarded, not derided. Perhaps a gate/fence area can be added which can be locked at sunset? |
