For that reason, I always have preferred to shop 'The Bay' despite having other options. Even now, with the ownership in American hands, I still prefer HBC for reasons of nostalgia and national pride. A change in name to Lord & Taylor would be an insult to Canadians' historical and present identities and would demonstrate characteristic American insensitivity to anything but their own interests. Indeed, such a move will lose me as a customer. While I no longer have choices for Canadian-owned large department stores, options still remain and I plan to exercise them over something some would erroneously see as an innocuous name change.Flag

IF..and that is a big, IF....Lord & Taylor's has to have their name on the stores...it makes more sense to have it after the Bay.. ie HBC Lord & Taylors.. Either way..keep the HBC in there...or loose me and my family as customers ...for good..and that includes your entire family of HBC stores...including Zellers, etcFlag
