Name: Lisa Myers on Mar 11, 2010Comments: This is why the South Bend schools are failing, when something new is working let's get rid of it to save money. Huge amounts of money went into the remodeling of Lincoln and Monroe why not put the funds into the teachers and programs for sucess instead of outward appearances. The corporation needs to look at how well Hamilton is doing and copy that to other schools.Flag

I wish Marshall's teachers had as much heart for their students as the Hamilton teachers have. Please keep Hamilton open - Great school with great teachers have great students!Flag

Name: Kimberly Krakowski on Mar 11, 2010Comments: I think it is terrible that you want to move these children out of there own neighborhood and bus them to move other children in. This is how all of the high schools in South Bend got ruined. closing and doing away with LaSalle HS. It ended up being a middle school. Why didn't you keep it a HS and keep the kids in their own neighborhoods? Kids care about the neighborhoods they live in. Bring strange kids in and trouble starts for the local people in the neighborhoods. Stop doing this to our children.Flag

Name: Erin Dennig on Mar 11, 2010Comments: I will not send my children to any other school in the SBCSC if Hamilton is closed. I will seek enrollment in a private school if this happens. I realize however, that my boys will still not receive the same education and attention as they have at Hamilton. The community, parents and teachers at that school are amazing and it would be a huge mistake to go through with this option.Flag

Name: Kimberly Widman on Mar 11, 2010Comments: We have experienced 3 primary school in SBCSC, there is a reason why we stayed at Hamilton! They are doing so well there and Hamilton and Mrs. Beck has been the ONLY school that understands my son's special needs, the ONLY school that my kids have enjoyed going to, and the ONLY school I will allow them to stay in. If this school is closed, I will move out of S.B. district and NONE of the S.B. schools will get MY property tax money. If they would stop focusing on ways to create this new "High Tech" school, things would be much better.Flag

Name: Lisa Wiest on Mar 11, 2010Comments: I think this is horrible. This school is a success! Monroe is failing and I think the board wants our children there so we will improve their I-step scores. Why would they have spent so much money remodeling a failing school? If Hamilton Traditional is closed I will be sending my children to a Catholic School so they will get a quality education. I bought a house near Hamilton and pay the taxes for this area, because I wanted my children to attend this school. Lisa WiestFlag

We have a successful school and why should SBCSC want to make our students' education suffer because the budget needs to be cut. Can't other cuts be made without having the students at HAMILTON TRADITIONAL SCHOOL paying that hefty price!!!!Flag

Name: Jaden M. Mize on Mar 11, 2010Comments: DONT SHUT DOWN OUR SCHOOL! Our children are doing wonderfully please don't change that in any way! I believe that shutting down this school would be a travesty, taking away small childrens stability to put children who have at some point taken their educations for granted into our school!!! Not to mention jepordizing the south side neighborhood's property... value that this school is located in.Flag

Name: Debby Herczeg on Mar 11, 2010Comments: Use the example of this school to promote parent involvement at other schools. Also, the teachers at Hamilton truly care for the students and I have not seen that to this level at other schools in the way it is at Hamilton. I have two sons that have gone through South Bend schools and we have lost the community aspect that was there from when I went through this school system and that needs to come back.Flag
