As a local business owner i appreciate the difference that the student population make to our town, less students would be detrimental to our town and it's future.Flag

Name: Josh Rousen on Jan 22, 2011Comments: We need the course. Newport needs the course. Cutting this course, especially in the light that Cardiff has 2 identical courses not far from each other, is a mistake. We have a better history, more experienced tutors, and far more successful alumni.Flag

Name: Michael Williams on Jan 22, 2011Comments: Why do you need to get rid of it? We only use two rooms 3 times a week plus you spent 35 mill on a new campus and 2 mill on a new fashion building. Then your saying to save 2 million you need to cut courses. What a farce.Flag

Name: Rikki Hughes on Jan 22, 2011Comments: To take away what I have heard numerous teaching staff call "one of the most successful degree courses at Newport University" is appalling. I speak not only of the Graphics degree but of the Fine Arts and Photography departments. This is a shocking and disgraceful move which will not only affect the students, your university, the city but Wales and the future students beyond. If you think they will come to Newport for its Business and Financial opportunities, think again. Your current students are coming here for the creative opportunities that Newport offers, whether it be formally in the classroom on a creative degree or as a member of the fantastic and encouraging music scene or our underground arts - and the knowledge that Cardiff and Bristol are only half an hour away on the train. All our local future creative talent, are just going to get on that train and never come back. Making Newport just that ever bit gloomier. TaFlag

We have logos on everything we practically own and would be a disgrace if there were fewer Graphic Design courses and therefore, fewer people going into Graphic Design.Flag
