Comments: The Crossroads Mountain Bike Trail provides the only mountain biking experience in St. Lucie County. My husband and I have been enjoying the trail(s) for years. The trail is maintained by devoted and committed people who so love the trail and have respectfully cared for the property for years. It would be crying shame to take this outdoor recreational opportunity away from the riders who so greatly appreciate and respect the trail. PLEASE SAVE THE TRAIL!!!

Comments: The volunteers of this trail should get an award, not loose the trail because they created an enjoyment that actually brought the community together and attracted people from much farther away. I would hate to see you loose this trail. I want to ride it every time I'm traveling North or South through there. Richard Butler National Bike Patroler

Comments: Since its inception which I was a part of this trail has challenged many riders from all over the country as far away as Alaska. Saving this trail and making it a riding park would not just benifit the local riding community but also benifit the local economy from the riders who travel and bring tourist dollars with them. St.Lucie County needs a park like this.

Comments: As a sixty year old enthusiast this is the best trail I have ever ridden on. The Airborne Club did a wonderful job of maintaining it. To lose this trail is a real tragedy for off road bicycling in South Florida. All riders in the surrounding counties are hoping that the county will find a way to restore access.

Comments: A friend and I rode the ft pierce bike trail for the first time yesterday, WOW! what a experience we both had . Compared to the other trails we rode this trail is the most fun and challenging. After riding the trail we met T.J. and sadly found out that the trail was in the process of being shut down. This is a crying shame!! This is a one of a kind trail especially in south florida. Thanks for the opportunity to sign this petition.

Comments: This is one of the most land-friendly, low impact trails I've ever ridden. I've been riding it for over 10 years, and have ridden all over the country and Canada. This is a VERY responsible group of individuals who built and maintain this trail, and they (we) need your help to preserve it. PLEASE DO ALL THAT YOU CAN TO HELP PRESERVE THE CROSSROADS TRAIL! Thank You. J.R.

Comments: I just started riding the ft pierce trail about three weeks ago. It is a great place to get out. I been riding this trail every day for the last two week and I love this place. This is the only place you can ride in the area. If we dont save this place where going to have no place to ride.

Comments: This trail is by far the most exciting ride within 150 miles. It has been consistantly and beautifully maintained by the dedicated volunteers of Airborne MTB Club. The existing terrain of the Crossroads Trail is truly unique to southern Florida, which is what draws riders of varying skill levels from all over Florida and the U.S. to it. More people ride mountain bikes in our area than meets the eye, and I believe that most of them will argue that the Ft. Pierce Crossroads MTB Trail is one of the best around! In an area where recreation geared towards active people who love being in the outdoors is scarce at best, the closing of this trail would be an absolute heartbreak. It is so difficult to convey the quality and uniqunes this trail offers riders to someone who has never been exposed to the sport. All I can tell them is to look at at the huge smile on my face everytime I finish a lap around the trail- I hope that would paint a picture worth a thousand words. WE LOVE OUR TRAIL! Please save it so not only the current riders, but the many new riders that take up, and fall in love with this sport everyday may enjoy it for years to come!

Comments: Fort Pierce has such a negative reputation amongst the other counties in Florida. It would be a shame to close something that acutally has a POSITIVE affect on this city. This trail provided opportunities for families to come together and strengthen family ties, and leading research shows that strong family bonds decrease drug use and other destructive behaviors among youth (which carrries over into the adult population). The piece of land the trail sits on is extremely unique in flora and fauna. The trails provides an opportunity for people from other counties as well as the "locals" to exercise and enjoy nature with minimal impact on the environment. The people who come to ride this trail also spend money within the county: gas in their car/truck, a meal at a restaurant, supplies at the local store, etc. In fact, I can see that this trail has been nothing but an asset to St. Lucie county. I would be truly saddened to see this "gem" closed to the public. Why not share it with everyone In fact, I only wish I had the money to buy it and donate to the county...
