Name: Asaad N on Apr 4, 2010Comments: This precious historical and religious monument must be preserved for all ages and for all people. It is a shrine for all people to visit who believe in the true existence of the majesty of the creator of all people because the man who is buried here was a prophet for God. For any people to change history by the mere replacement of a holy shrine is an insult to every educated and decent human being. If another structure is to be built in that location, why is it that they can't find another location for the new structure - there is plenty of land available. .Flag

Name: Sara on Apr 4, 2010Comments: The prophet Ezekiel's shrine at al-Kifil has been a place of pilgrimage for both Jews and Moslems for centuries. We continue to sing Jewish pilgrimage songs that were sung on visits to Ezekiel's tomb. The visits -- now a memory -- are precious. Do NOT erase the Jewish association with the Prophet Ezekiel's shrine.Flag

Name: Solomon J. Green on Apr 4, 2010Comments: Having driven 150,000 Jews out of Iraq since 1945, the Moslem majority has now turned on the Christians, who still speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus. Taking their precedent from the Taliban who destroyed thousand year old statues of the Lord Buddha or the Palestinainas and Jordanians who destroyed three and four hundred year old synagogues, the Shia fanatics now wish to eliminate all trace of Judaism from the land of Babylon. My (Jewish) grandchildren are descended from the hereditary keepers of the Tomb of Ezekiel, which was always under Jewish protection until the Jews were driven out fifty or sixty years ago.Flag

Name: Emile Cohen on Apr 4, 2010Comments: I am concerned about the heritage sites of Iraq being abused and distorted to suit the purposes political and religious powers. The shrine of Al Kifl had been a site visited by Muslims and Jews for many centuries and should not be claimed as a sole hritage by the Muslims.Flag

Name: Gad Ben- Meir on Apr 5, 2010Comments: Islam recognizes Prophet Ezekiel as a Jewish Prophet and Iraqi Moslems revered him as did their Jewish bretheren for generatins. It would be both unIslamic and sacriligious, not to mention, anti-Jewish, to convert the site into a mosque where Jews will certainly be prohibited to visit. There is no theological, social, human or political justification to do so.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 5, 2010Comments: Why is it that only Jewish hly places are in danger? In Jerusalem the Waqf deny any Jewish connection to the Western Wall and destroy precious archaelogy by tunnelling below the Temple Mount. The Hurva synagogue rededication causes a riot, Rachel's tomb is claimed to have always been a mosque and the tomb of the patriarch is Hebron will become part of Palestine - what is its future. Why do UNESCO take no action when Jewish holy places are thereatened? Act now, please.Flag
