Name: Thomas Civitello on Dec 21, 2009State:Comments: I personally know several members of the enterprise volunteer fire company, and they are hard working people who truly believe in the cause they're serving. To deny them the ability to continue to serve the community where they live is not only an injustice to them, but to the people they serve as well. I sincerely hope the budget is amended in a way that would allow them all to continue working and making our community a safer place to live.Flag

Not having Enterprise available would jeopardize our properties. SIncerely, Christopher HerrmannFlag

Name: Joseph De Monte on Dec 23, 2009State:Comments: I believe it's important to support the volunteers of all emergency services. Without them, the costs would skyrocket in order to have enough staff to properly staff the companies. In additon, while I reside in district 12, and my children previously attended Klockner Elementary School (also in district 12), I'm comfortable knowing that Enterprise is physically closer (with no disrespect to the fine job that Mercerville does).Flag

Name: Cheryl Roche on Dec 23, 2009State:Comments: I further request not only leave Enterprise VOLUNTEER Fire Co open, and running.. to as well add area to their jurisdiction being us located in the neighboring homes located across the street running up to as far as Nottingham Way at the Klockner Rd. intersection. There is no reason that another Fire Co has to come all the way from another area to get to our house on Armour Ave when this Firehouse stands ready, and willing with non paid volunteers yet since it is not in fact their jurisdiction they are unable to respond first .. yet they do pass by on the way to other fires. I find that rather ridiculous. While many in the Township complain about taxes being so high, and trying to find ways to cut back where needed.. isn't getting rid of a Firehouse with Volunteers willing to do the same thing as paid Firefighters rather contradicting? Things that make ya go Hmmm!Flag

Name: BEVERLY HODSON on Dec 23, 2009State:Comments: You have to be absolutely crazy to replace a volunteer company with a all paid department. No disrespect to paid firemen but the math is simple. Especially in times when taxes are skyrocketing why pass on more cost to the taxpayers when they are willing to volunteer. Their services have been excellent.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 24, 2009State:Comments: I can't believe that after 100 years, you want to close the Enterprise Volunteer Fire Company. They have served this community and require a lot less funding than using career firefighters. These are men and women who have given so much to the community and are getting nothing in return. It's shocking and appalling that the thought of closing them down would even cross the anyone's mind! I really hope that you consider funding the Enterprise Volunteer Fire Company in the upcoming budget and fund them as they have been in the past. They truly deserve it!Flag
