Valuable to youth culture Valuable to the Tasmanian and Australian music industry Valuable to retailers Valuable to publicans, venues like bars, cafes, restaurants, advertisers Valuable to the arts Valuable to the University of Tasmania Valuable to minority groups Valuable to youth education and mental health It organises, teaches, voices, educates, promotes, connects and services contemporary culture across Tasmania in a format that no other medium overlaps. Edge deserves to be acknowledged as an important service to Tasmania. Edge Radion deserves to receive core funding and political support in a stable, ongoing capacity.Flag

Get amongst it and make our voice heard stronger and louder. It's time that the city of Hobart recognised how much Edge Radio does for the community.Flag

Name: Daniel Butcher on May 20, 2010Comments: Edge Radio plays a very important and often underrated role in the community providing a forum for Hobart's youth to acknowledge their place in society and voice important information specific to youth issues. Community Radio doesn't have a commercial agenda, it supports fringe ideas that add to a community's culture and fosters growth in local and grass-root programs. Edge Radio is culturally significant.Flag

Name: Martin Blackwell on May 20, 2010Comments: The contribution that Edge Radio gives back to the community is just too great - promoting 100% local original music by Tasmanians, its community announcements, its initiating of volunteers to the media arts and entertainment industries. Edge cannot be understated for its means of linking the community as the voice of Tasmanian youth. Lets see our representatives reciprocate with wholehearted support to keep this radio station thriving - the benefits are too good.Flag

Name: Ben Waterworth on May 20, 2010Comments: The last 6 years working at Edge Radio really have been the best times, it has given me an opportunity to get started in the radio industry and gain experience through a fantastic station that supports Hobart and Tasmania as a whole. For 7 years our airwaves have been all the more better thanks to Edge, and I know that I'm not that only one who has Edge to thank for getting their foot in the radio door. They have also helped countless upcoming Tassie artists go onto bigger and better things and have given the people of Hobart something different to tune into than just syndicated radio. Losing Edge would mean Hobart loses a little part of it's soul, and I know it's not just Hobart that would be sad to see it go with many more people interstate and worldwide listening in online. Everyone needs to band together to save the greatest radio station on the planet!Flag
