Name: Rogene Hasty on Jul 24, 2006Comments: It is vital that we get the Lake restored to it's original condition. We need to preserve it for our future generations and for the beauty that it has always had. Right now it is becomming stagnant and will not be a coastal lake for others to enjoy. Shame on our generation if we allow this to happen!Flag

Name: Becky C. Carruthers on Jul 25, 2006Comments: Eastern Lake needs to be preserved! The area is known for its beautiful dune lakes...lets not let it turn into an alligator Alley either!!! Dangerous for families who live around the area and tourists too! Let's keep it's natural beauty and keep it open for future generations to enjoy! Very unique places like this are slowly disappearing...I'd hate to see the closing of Eastern Lake!!!Flag

Name: Dr. Kenneth R.Swinford on Jul 25, 2006Comments: As the widower of deceased Marie Wesley Swinford (last survivor of the W. H. Wesley clan, who homesteaded Eastern Lake, and the owner of the first cottage on the lake --Now "Happy Days"), I am sorry to learn that someone has interefered with the drainage of the lake to prevent its' natural outflow. This is contrary to what has kept the lake saline and presereved its' unique and healthy natural condition. It would be a disgrace to all, particularly to the memory of those who loved the lake in past years, for its' deterioration to take place. This lake belongs to more than two owners and should be restored and preserved for posterity. K. R. Swinford, PhD--forest management (Former co-owner of the frist cottage on the lake.)Flag
