| 659 | Ina Zec | Please STOP the greed.
Please save our cultural heritage. |
Jack Kirin | There is plenty of space left in the world to construct buildings of every kind without the need to demolish Landmarks that should be preserved. Future generations need to see the kind of living conditions that our ancestors endured, just to live from day to day. It is unfortunate that people are put in position of authority and because of their greed and their ruthless uncaring cronies, all for the sake of money, our world and country are going to hell. This kind of mentality is typical all over the world.
Donna Mekis | I am an American but my family was originally from Konavle. For the past five years I have been conducting research on the former Dubrovnik Republic and have visited the City many times. I believe it is possible to develop a strong tourist industry without destroying the very sites that people are coming to see. I strongly urge your municipal authorities to study how other historic cities have managed to develop their economy and tourist industries while at the same time enhancing and supporting their historical and cultural sites. I cherish the city of Dubrovnik and it must be preserved at any cost for future generations.
Morton Marcus | I've visited Dubrovnik 7 times in the last 18 years and have been delighted with how the city has been preserved. Leave it as it is, It is Croatian heritage and the world's.Planning for growth and tourism should be done outside the immediate environs of the city. You don't need a bus depot, just a re-routing of the buses. Learn from the mistakes in Europe and America. Once your heritage is gone, you can never get it back.
Ann Mekis | Dubrovnik is a beautiful city that should be honored, not torn down
James Mekis | Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Please do not ruin its historic structures.
jayme mekis | Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited. Please do not take away the chance for others, now and in the future to walk the walls, view the buildings and enjoy the incomparable pharmacy etc. Stop the demolition and/or other changes to the old city.
marcia mcdougal | Do not be so foolish as to tear down our dearly beloved old town This is history that will be gone for the rest of the world FOREVER. Stop the greed of money for the exchange of a great treasure.

joy monteath | Developers are the scourge of the world. Dubrovnik is the Jewel of the Adriatic and must not be infected and destroyed by such activities.destructive
Dr M E J Beard | The destruction done by bureaucrats and developers must stop straight away to preserve the wonders of Dubrovnik
Wes Eichenwald | It would be a supreme irony if Dubrovnik, so beautifully restored after the shelling of 1991-92, were to have its essential character altered beyond recognition as a result of mass tourism and developers' greed. I would hope that future visitors would get the chance to see the old town as I did, in 1999 and 2002 -- as a real place where real people live, and though dependent on tourism, does not prostitute itself beyond recognition. I trust it is not yet too late for that. Yes, do visit, but tread lightly upon those ancient stones.
