Sami Grimes | Dr. P is the greatest principal that North has seen or will ever see. I have never known someone who had as much enthusiam going to work and as much care for ALL and EVERY student that walks in the doors of the school. Everytime you see him in he hall, a student is chatting with him, laughing, joking, having a great time. Wak into any other school in the Plainfield District; I don't think you will see any principal with as much of a connection with the students and faculty as Dr. Pasteris does. So many people in the commmunity appreciate everything that he does for the school and everyone around him. He's not just a principal, he's a team palyer, a mentor, a friend. I love Dr. P!
Shannon Grimes | Dr. Pasteris is the ONLY principal that is right for North. The school board should really take into consideration what the people want and what is best for the students. He is AMAZING at what he does and puts so much time, effort, and heart into his job that it truly makes a difference. He has impacted so many students in a positive way that it would be truly depressing if future graduating classes were denied the priviledge of having him as an administrator. WE
Karen severino | What a tragedy that this has happened to such a wonderful principle and person!!!! Dr. Pasteris has done a wonderful job leading and encouraging our children. It is no easy task to open up a new highschool, and yet, he did it with so much love and concern for the kids at PNHS. I know because we have a son who is currently a junior at the school, so we sat through all of the inaugaral meetings and pep rallys. I had a son who graduated from Plainfield Central Highschool, and I never felt a sense of community when I walked into that school, or when I went to countless football, basketball and baseball games. This is a great loss for our community. I can only hope and PRAY that our school board will admit their mistake and reinstate Dr. Pete Pasteris!!!!!!!

Anonymous | THERE CAN'T POSSIBLY BE A GOOD REASON FOR THE BOARD TO FIRE PRINCIPAL PASTERIS. IF ANYTHING, YOU HIRED HIM TO DO A JOB AND A GREAT JOB HE DID! I CAN UNDERSTAND IF HE DIDN'T LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS BUT TO THE PARENTS HE HAS DONE A TERRIFFIC JOB. I GUESS OUR OPINIONS DON'T MATTER. YOU, THE BOARD NEED TO BE REMOVED!!!
Ryan Arnold | Keep him please, he is great for our school
| 107 | Frank Severino | How can a board who is elected by the people act against the people. It is clear Dr Pasteris is not only qualified for the position but the results of the school speak for themselves. The board has put Dr Pasteris and Dr Harpers relationship ahead of our children. Dr Harper, as the appointed leader of the school district you should put our children ahead of your ego and have been able to recognize what’s best for the Plainfield learning community. Your actions are appalling and they only draw attention to your lack of leadership and decision making process. Regardless of the outcome of Dr. Pasteris your record and your ability to lead this district will be scrutinized very closely by the Plainfield community. It is time you understand that the tail will no longer wag the dog.
Do what’s right for our children |

Mrs. Katie Bond | I was Dr. Pasteris' secretary for almost three years at PNHS. I had the privilege and honor of working side by side with Dr. Pete and assisted him in the opening of PNHS. It was an incredible experience to watch the vision of Dr. Pete unfold. His vision was to create a safe and exciting learning environment for students to thrive and excel. He wanted to create an environment for his staff to feel valued and appreciated. He wanted to create a place of which we could all be proud. He created such an environment at PNHS. From the moment you walk through the doors of PNHS, you can literally palpate the excitement and positive vibe going on in our school. I had the privilege of seeing first-hand the type of Administrator/leader Dr. Pete is, and I can honestly say that he has done an incredible job at PNHS!!!! I do not believe that he deserves to lose his job!!! Actually, it's not a job to Dr. Pete, it is a calling. Dr. Pete is all about kids, and the kids could sense that and wanted to make him proud of their accomplishments and achievements. He is incredibly busy; however, his door is always open to students, parents, and staff members. To this day, I miss working with Dr. Pete, the students at PNHS, and all the wonderfully talented teachers there who continuously amazed me with their incredible dedication to educating the future of our country. As a parent and as a taxpayer of this community, I beseech the Board to reconsider your decision. It's not too late to reinstate!
ken wehrli | well said. i at least deserve a valid reason for even considering a dismissal of this magnitude so without one, i can only assume something personal went on which is certainly no grounds for dismissal.
Karla D. Libera | Dr. Pasteris has personally helped my son when this opportunity would not have normally been available to him, simply because we asked. He understood our concerns regarding my son's education and he listened to us and the people educating him and made sure my son was able to be challenged the way he should have been under his circumstances.

Mary Rathbun | My son is a senior at Plainfield North High School. I support reinstating Dr. Peter Pasteris as Principal. He is our best hope for creating an excellent learning environment similar to Naperville schools for our sons and daughters.
Anonymous | I agree that the school board should at least consider and value the opinions of the students and parents which they serve. Dr. P has gone above and beyond expectations with the school being open for only 3 years. Shouldn't the primary concern here be the children? Never before have I seen such involvement and concern from highschoolers about the wellbeing of an administrator or teacher. The public reaction is enough to reconsider the dismissal of Dr. Pete Pasteris. And if the reason behind this wonderful man's dismissal is "state test scores", then what is to happen to the other principals/administrators at Plainfield Central and South, both of whom had significantly lower state test scores than North? Dr. P has excelled past both other Plainfield high schools in such a short time, I simply don't understand the motive behind his dismissal. Please reconsider, he means a lot to the community: kids, family, and faculty!
| 119 | Darrell Castleman | We are all human beings, and we are all capable of misjudging somone, and making a mistake is not above any of us. I sincearly hope that our school board has thought long and hard about it's decision in this matter, as a man's career depends on thier decision.
I only briefly know Dr. Pasteris, but judging by the enties in this petition, it seems he is very well repected and adored by the people he is contact with on an every day basis. If people are willing to publically support what they believe to be a mistake, I would think it may be a good idea for our school board to re-address the situation to make sure without dought, the decision being made is the right decision for all parties involved. |
Debbie Kohler | Once again...a bad decision not to renew his contract. This is an outrage.

The Bryan Baker Family | Dr. Pasteris has done nothing but had a postive influence on this community and the students of this school. This is only a personal attack on him by certain people who have let power go to their heads. I seriously question if the board voted their hearts or if they voted with what Dr. Harper leaned on them. Shame on PSD 202 and shame on most of our board for not being in "charge" of our district. We trusted you with "our" vote, not his.

Jim Blaney | If Dr. Pasteris is not reinstated, we, as the taxpayers in this district who pay the freight, are at least owed an explanation by Dr. Harper and the 202 Board as to exactly why Dr. Pasteris is not being retained.

Brenda Lumpkin | Dr P is one of the reasons why I decides to send her to PNHS as oppossed to private school, I heard what great of a job he is doing as principal. Please let him stay at PNHS, he really cares about those kids!!!

Michele Foran | What is wrong with this School Board? Do you people not have eyes? I have only had the pleasure of attending events at Plainfield North as a spectator and have seen the school spirit that inspires every student and parent. It was exciting to see student games that are overflowing with attendees, and see student involvement from every facet; sadly returning to our high school, in the same district, wanting that for my children. There is a difference at North. I have been outraged by this not being the standard for all of the schools in Plainfield. Does the Board not want pride in their District? Whatever is going on at Plainfield North - School Board - take note and bring it to all of our schools. I believe that whatever Plainfield North has it is BECAUSE of the Principal from the administration down. You can see it in the halls, the fields and the courts. The Plainfield School Board must remember that you work for the District and you must be held accountable for your actions. Plainfield deserves a response for your actions. Do not lose the best thing that Plainfield has to offer; bring Dr. Pasteris back and have him teach the Board what it takes to make a great school.
Liz Welsh | When is the time and energy of politics going to stop and put the focus back on what is in the best interest of our chlldren.? Why has the school board allowed this disruption and negative energy to effect the students in the entire Plainfield area for so long. These are bright students in our school district that have been deeply affected by this decision that has transcended to all age groups. Why does the school board continue to fix what is not broken, ie: Everyday Mathmatics, Block Scheduling and not renewing a principal that the community as a whole demands that he be reinstated? I warned the Board of Education that Everyday Mathmatics would be a gross disaster. And now the teachers are trying their very best to undo the damage of that education to prepare them to be successful again in a traditional math program. The Block schedule in the middle schools is a huge mistake. The Board has taken away the students ability to mange their time and reinforce study habits. This prgram has also taken away any opportunity for the child to receive additional help as the learning lab is no longer an option. Many students and teachers now have to meet during their lunch hours to receive additional help. And if a child misses a day of school and it was a day that would have been a core class that they do not now have everyday, that basically involves them missing two days of instruction and homework. I have been informed that if there is an absence from school, and there is a test in their core class the next day, the student must take the test. But, will have the opportunity to retake the test. So, they have to go thru the anxiety of not knowing a great deal of the information on the test and suffer thru it. Then fall further behind because there is no study hall or learning lab for them to learn the missed instruction on the day of their absence. The anxiety you are putting the average student thru is unacceptable. But the Board once again is fixing what is not broken and by not reinstating Dr. Pasteris. I personally feel that none of these decisions have ever had the best interest of the students in mind. When I moved here ten years ago, I joined the Citizens For Classrooms committee because I believed that at that time they were fighting for the students and not for their own personal apirations or politics. What a sad state of affairs that this school district has become. I strongly feel tht it is time that the parents stand up for their children and return to traditional teaching and teachers that are willing to put their jobs on the line for the best interest of a child!
Anonymous | He is an exordinary, compassionate man that has done great things and should continue to do so. If you could only understand the caliber of people he has put together and that are behind him at North, you would be amazed. The best result is scholastic achievement of the students. I know that many would say that the student's going in to North may be better, but Dr. Pete has helped to make them even more confident and prepared for the world beyond high school. Please support me and many others to keep Dr. Pasteris as the principal of Plainfield North High School.

Matt Bond | From my personal experience as high schooler, Dr. Pasteris has always been encouraging to students and supportive of staff members. Even though I don't attend PNHS, I have friends who go to school there, and I think it is horrible what they are doing to such a nice guy. I have personally met Dr. Pete and a lot of the teachers and staff members because my Mom used to work there. He's the kind of Principal that parents would want to have for their kids. He's fair, kind, compassionate, and a true motivator of kids my age. If the District can do this to the PNHS Principal, that means they can do this to my Principal at South and also Central. Since I have been a kid, my parents and teachers have taught me to always make good choices. Now that I am older, I am beginning to see that certain adults don't always make the right choices, and I feel that the Board Members who voted Dr. Pete out, didn't make the right choice or the fair choice. What these adults are teaching us highschool students is that they really don't have our best interest at heart. I would like to know why? I believe that they will realize they have made a mistake and change their vote. As my Mom said, "IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO REINSTATE!!!!!"

The evans family | I am very new to plainfield but I can tell you from observations at my kids 3 different high schools in the last 5 years that Dr Pasteris has a very positive influence on the kids and is very involved in all activites. He is a great role model. Not knowing the circumtances I am puzzled why a man whom most if not all people respect and like did not get his contract re-newed. In a time when it is all about people the board needs to set differences aside and reconsider its position on this matter.
Jeff Bond | I'm an 8th grader who will be attending South in the Fall and was at the Board Meeting when they voted Dr. Pete out. I couldn't believe it!!!!!!! I've been at North because my Mom used to work there, and I really think that school is awesome. Dr. Pete is an inspiration to his students and is a great role model. I don't understand why they would vote out such a great Principal. What is the reason for his leaving? I believe that the Board should listen to the students who attend the school rather than just being selfish. There are a lot of Principals in the District, and why are they targeting Dr. Pete. Is it because of his great leadership qualities? Who knows. Please reconsider your vote and make the right choice to reinstate Dr. Pete!
