GaëlleNow this is getting ridiculous. Reducing her role when she's already barely there in some episodes... She (along with Beckett...) brings most of the humanity well-needed in this expedition. And she is the main reason I watch the show, so I'm sorry, but if she goes, I go too.

VeroniqueElizabeth is THE leader of Atlantis... and Atlantis is HER home.

zephyrfeiI'm in total denial. Dr Weir is the only reason I still watch SGA. SGA lacks strong female character. IMO, Taley is not written very well, and getting weak in every season. SGA cannot be totally about how John and Rodney save the world. There is no growth in their character. They are hero and smartest guy from season 1 till now.

Pretty WyattI totally disagree with this decission ! Weir IS a MAIN CHARACTER of the show, you can't make Torri becoming a "recurrent character".
Glenn WhiteThe character of Weir as played by the sublimely talented Torri Higginson is THE primary reason for me to watch the show. She goes, I go.
AnonymousOnly 4 years and the show is already falling apart?

KatieAre you actively TRYING to sink this show? Because if so, you're certainly going the right way to do it.

AnonymousTorri Higginson plays a character I can completely connect with. I draw on her determination to get things done, correctly and to the best of her ability, to help me get through the tough times in my degree. I watch the show mainly because I like the bits she is in. I wouldn't be as interested in the show without her.
Boudin ChristopheKeep Torri!
LiliIt's a ridiculous idea. Elizabeth is the leader of Atlantis. The productor not to do the same that Jack O'Neil in SG1.
DarkAthenaSi Torri est mise à l'écart de SGA, alors moi aussi je pars...
AnonymousShe is only reason, why I watching SGA. Atlantis is Elizabeth Weir and Elizabeth Weir live for Atlantis. Save the leader, Save the show! Everything else is irrelevant.
HeatherAtlantis will not be the same without Torri.
Peter McEvoyI really like the present cast of atlantis. Please don't drop characters we love
hollysamanthaFirst Ford, then Carson and now Elizabeth? what's next no characters at all?

AbysssWE WANT LIZ! WE LOVE HER!
Daniel BuckleyStop removing characters or relegating them to lesser roles. Dr Weirs aim in Atlantis is to uncover the mystery of the ancients. she is the Daniel Jackson of Atlantis. Use her, Tori is a fab actor. Its just lazy on the writers part to bring in new or SG1 characters. Use what you've got.
KatharinaOk, now it is getting ridiculous. Why don't you just rename SGA and call it the "John and Rodney Show"? I'm already disapointed because there are so many good characters on the show but the actors just don't get the screentime or/and lines to show it. And honestly, I never watched SG1 so bringing an SG1-character into Atlantis is no reason for me to keep watching Atlantis. Writing all my favourite characters off on the other hand is a really good reason for stop watching. Oh and by the way, the writers already seem to have problems writing two shows at the same time and giving each character the chance to develope. So why are you even thinking about having a third show at the moment? I thought after Star Trek which went from 3 shows on air to none producers should have learned from that mistake. Fans rather have one good show than 3 shows which are just ok. So work on the show that is already running for three years instead of just killing it off slowly by exchanging characters all the time!
MAAtlantis without Elizabeth Weir as a regular isn't Atlantis.
K.OThis is disgusting. So, basically, the only two original characters I can depend on to be with the show from beginning to end as a 'regular' is Sheppard and McKay... who already dominate the show as it is. TH is a fantastic actress who has *always* shone in the few episodes she's given to do so in. She barely gets any lines as a 'regular'; I'd be hardly surprised if as a 'recurring' she's reduced to standing in the background as a pot plant. Dragging actors from other sci-fi shows to take up the screentime of original members? No thanks. I watched SGA for it's (relatively) new cast. I grew attached to them, I found a favourite (Elizabeth) and I stuck with the show even when it, to be frank, sucked. I can deal (however reluctantly) with Carson 'disappearing'. I dealt with Ford leaving even though he brought the show much needed innocent humour. I *will* not deal with Elizabeth become a recurring. If this move is a result of Elizabeth's apparent lack of popularity, well, let's just think: How many episodes have John or Rodney being the heroes, thinking up amazing plans and getting wonderfully humourous lines? And, uh, how many have Elizabeth and Teyla doing the same? Okay. I apologise for the rant, but I'm just furious that Amanda Tapping will get fourteen episodes (no doubt with many lines we wish one of the present female characters would get) and Torri will become a 'recurring'. If this is a choice made by TH, I have no problem with it. Unlikely, though. AT got her Stargate fame. Let someone else have a chance. Three original characters (more or less) down. Let's shoot the rest and create an entirely new show, shall we? Thanks, SGA. i don't know why I bother.

KateHey! Elizabeth is one of my, if not my, favorite Characters on Stargatte Atlantis. For the first time in the "Stargate Aera" a woman is in command, that alone is a reason why you can't take her away from us. She's one of the most wonderful and kind people you can imagine, and you don't want her anymore?!? Just think of what happen than RDA wasn't on Stargate SG-1 anymore - do you want the same thing happening to Atlantis too? I hope you'll reconsider your desicion. Save Elizabeth. Kate
Dianne HemmingI believe that this is not a good thing.Torri Higginson is an integral part of Stargate Atlantis and the interactions of the other characters uis important. Without her it will not be the same Keep Dr Weir!!!!
AnonymousYou can't get rid of Elizabeth. She is my favourite characer. Why try and fix something when it's not broken?
Lisa RoanI absolutely love Atlantis and taking Weir off only to bring SG1 fans over is an idiotic excuse. It will effectively kill Atlantis. I for one never watched one epi of SG1 until I started watching Atlantis, so that just goes to show how much I loved the show, that I had to check out the original, but I swear if you take Elizabeth out just to put Carter in you will lose a lot of fans including myself. Wake up writers. This is Weir's expedition and she is the life blood to the show, if you don't see that then you are blind as hell. So do yourselves a favor and stop doing crossovers, they DON'T work!!!
Stephanie PoyntonI am so mad. Elizabeth is my favourite character! I don't think i can say anymore without becoming offensive. If Elizabeth isn't a regular my opinion of the show is going to go way way way down!
Hannah KellyIt won't be Atlantis without her!
Mark Watson
Rhona WilshawIt would be a huge, dangerous mistake to reduce the role of Elizabeth Weir. She's such an important part of the show to simply dismiss her as a recurring character. Not after 3 years of brilliance from her. Torri is an amazing actress and to do this would be an incredible waste of her talents

Hannah Gordon-SmithI could maybe see how a reduction to recurring could be positive, IF the character was well used in the episodes she was still in, however I seem to recall a similar discussion like this when the same thing happened to Ford's character. Given how that went I don't exactly have faith in the writers to make this something good. Is it too much to ask that they try harder to develop existing characters before they do the whole dropping them to recurring in favour of bringing in entirely new ones that for all we know will never be any better developed than the ones getting shunted out the way. This strategy is not a good way - probably the worst, - to cover up bad writing practices in not developing main characters enough over the seasons. "Oh dear we didn't do much with them, let's make them a recurring and sort of pretend they're not really so important as to be a main character like they have been for the first 3 seasons" Yeah, great idea, wonderful way to piss off fans and confuse viewers. :/
AliceHow can you make such a fabulous character recurring!!
SuxenStargate Atlantis is not Stargate Atlantis without Torri ! Please, save her !
